Engineering Career Fair Collaborative Top 5
Six universities are combining forces to create one large engineering career fair full of opportunity. The companies attending are offering both full-time and internship opportunities in new exciting fields such as robotics, energy, medical devices, environmental sciences, transportation, and design. 52 companies are coming to meet students at this fair, and to help you get started, here is a sneak peek into the Top 5:
1. SpaceX – SpaceX is the world’s fastest growing provider of advanced rocket and spacecraft launching services. They have the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets! They are currently the only private company that is capable of returning a spacecraft from low Earth orbit. SpaceX is offering positions in chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering to sophomores – seniors, undergraduate alumni, graduate students and graduate alumni.
2. SharkNinja – SharkNinja is a company in the housewares industry – it is one of the top brands in vacuum cleaners, and one of the market leaders in the kitchen category. They have over 150 products, and over 550 U.S. patents! They have earned a loyal and passionate following by having a focus on solving consumer’s pain points. SharkNinja has positions in electrical and mechanical engineering for juniors, seniors, and master’s students.
3. Lyft – Lyft is revolutionizing cars by building a world-class self-driving system. They want to make sure that technology breakthroughs are applied to the transportation industry! Their goal is to make transportation safer and more accessible for everyone. They believe with fewer cars on the road and less air pollution, they can reshape cities. Lyft is offering positions in biomedical, chemical, electrical, environmental, and mechanical engineering to sophomores – seniors, and graduate students.
4. Realtime Robotics, Inc. – Realtime Robotics is working on a special purpose processor that enables robots and vehicles to instantly react to their environments. They want to overcome the primary obstacle that is preventing robots and autonomous vehicles from achieving their true potential. Realtime Robotics has positions in electrical and mechanical engineering for all undergraduate students, undergraduate alumni, graduate students, and graduate alumni.
5. Ginkgo Bioworks – Ginkgo Bioworks designs custom microbes for customers across multiple markets. They engineer these organisms by using software and hardware automation. They believe that biology is the most advanced manufacturing technology on the planet! Ginkgo Bioworks is offering positions in biomedical, chemical, and environmental engineering to juniors, seniors, undergraduate alumni, graduate students, and graduate alumni.
The Engineering Career Fair Collaborative will be held on Wednesday, November 14th from 3:30 – 6pm in the Sheraton Commander Hotel. You can view the full list of participating organizations here.
