Since I just got back to uni, I remembered that the Engineer Corps exists in AoT and we literally never hear anything about them other than the fact that they invent the lightning shells or whatever they're called.
But, presumably, these cool ass nerds are also the ones responsible for the ODM gear and the updated version and we just... Never meet a character from the Engineer Corps. Alas, I have found an element of AoT even more underutilized than the Tyburs and the Warhammer.
Uruki Mazamoto AKA Treads Though hes likely to punch you if you call him Uruki given that his family abandoned him ages ago. The runt of the Engineer Corps, he is a convicted felon who is part of the team so as to serve out his sentence. (Not that he'll ever admit it, but he doesn't mind so much anymore. His teammates are about the only friends he's ever had, and it sure beats prison) Thanks to a stolen prototype weapon, (which is slowly killing him and causing excruciating pain) he can generate hard light limbs with a tank-tread pattern/motif on them within a limited sphere around him. He uses them to slash from the shadows as he uses his small frame and speed to dart in and out of battle.

Great stealth abilities
He can manipulate the hard-light limbs onto himself, such as forming a giant first. However, unlike Boiler, this does not actually strengthen his punches. He uses it as a bluff.
The limbs are capable of slicing through a lot of things on account of their thin edges, but they do not carry a large amount of force. They cannot fully cut through dense materials.
After a few upgrades to his weapon, he can form wings on which he can glide
After said upgrades, he is also capable of maintaining partial camouflage (not invisibility) while stationary for up to a maximum of fifteen minutes
After his upgrades, he can form himself armor and a sword out of his light limbs (however maintaining this takes the full power of his weapon); after a few failed attempts at a comfortable design and a few wisecracks from his team, he settles on a samurai-inspired design of armor to compliment his kabuki mask.Ā
After several years with his weapon, if he focuses enough, he can extend his senses outward with it (unfortunately leaving him vulnerable to attacks coming from outside his radius); this is useful for observing around corners
He is able to sync his weapon with those of some of his teammates, allowing for more powerful combo-based moves.Ā

he holds animosity towards pretty much everyone
he is a convict, serving his time and parole on the Corps
If you mention the concept of honor around him (because heās fed up with damn stereotype jokes, and it strikes a nerve close to home with his past) youāll find yourself with a blade at your throat
He is downright vicious; during his first few months with the team, he nearly kills several enemies and endangers countless civilians (which only lands him in further hot water, with an even longer, more restrictive sentence)
Despite the name, his weapon does not run on octane; rather an experimental derivative that is slowly killing him
His weapon was stolen and he used it for a series of heists before being caught and sentenced; due to improper understanding of the weapon, it is in a constant state of reconfiguration; connection to his nervous system makes this incredibly painful and if interrupted would surely kill him
Spanner the teamās leader and medic is one of the few people in the world with knowledge and expertise to keep him alive.
Treads has a very very high metabolism. His blood sugar is also prone to fluctuate, meaning he has occasionally come very close to entering a diabetic coma
He is very fast, but not very strong. he prefers to avoid direct combat as he is very easily thrown around. He prefers to strike in a blurr of cutting edges from shadows as he darts about

he hates the military government alliance under which he is employed as part of the Engineer Corps
He has trust and care for his teammates, as they are the first people heās ever met who havenāt abandoned him despite having nothing to gain from him (he nearly killed a lot of people at first)
He has a complex past with his family who abandoned him from a young age
He has various underworld connections; most of which to whom he owes something
Personality:
Arrogant, self-centered and easy to anger, heās always got a smirk on his face and a glint in his eye. While he may beĀ āreformingā as a criminal, that doesnāt stop him from stealing. While heās around, any food left unattended in The Station is fair game (and usually gone down his gullet). He has an extreme competitive streak. Heās usually found hanging aroundĀ in the rafters of the base, where his room is located; incidentally he enjoys attempting to spy on others (heās a bit of a gossip; though he claims it to be gathering blackmail) and planning pranks when heās bored. Ā
While he maintains a snide and crass personality, heās not a complete asshole; thanks to him, nothing in the base stays misplaced for long, and he does help with cleaning with his powers. He also will participate in movie nights (usually by hanging down from the rafters, trying not to be seen) and the occasional board game. (or as he always insists on saying, a bored game). For rather obvious reasons he has been banned from ever participating in any card games. especially poker. He is a huge fanatic of video games (as they allow him to satisfy his competitive edge) and will play with the others on occasion (usually remotely from his room. And no matter how much you egg him on, he will never admit that he plays Pokemon almost religiously)
BTW guys any feedback or suggestion on these is appreciated. These are ENTIRELY (well, not directly based on anything, anyways) original characters, and im trying really hard to make them work.Ā

I donāt know aboutĀ āidolizeā... but probably Taiāzohn, he has too much respect for the intellect of his opponents (and can get too easily enamored with new tech said enemies have developped (although he refuses to acknowledge doing either behaviour))

āFireballā (i, at one point, did give him a proper freaking name, which i cannot for the life of me currently remember or find! Oh well iāll have to redo it) He doesnāt believe in leading an apologetic life. Apologies and pity donāt undo tragedies.
S: Who has the strongest spirit?
Hmmm well thatās a tricky one. Many of my characters have a stubborn refusal to give up, but i think that probablyĀ āBuckshotā Becky (last name not yet decided) is probably the one with the strongest spirit: she not only has been to war (losing an eye and suffering PTSD from conflicts) but stayed in the military, solely to keep an eye on the kids of her two friends WHO SHE WATCHED DIE. Talk about not giving up. (and no there was no heartfelt vow between her and said friends to keep an eye on the kids. she decided to do it herself)
