@rebornflameofthenoldor alright, this isn't as far along in Tengwar as I thought, but here is the Palantir drawing WIP from AutoCAD. Below are captures of some ot the text that I have yet to transcribe. This is in English mode tengwar.
I work in electrical engineering, so it is SUPER FUN to interface with Tolkien from the STEM side of me!
All of this needs some proof-reading and tightening up... but I hope you enjoy!
I have been in Engineering Hell for the last 10 days because somebody decided it was a simple matter to add a paging and public address system across a 20 building campus last minute in the design process.
Therefore, I treated myself to a fancy Whole Foods market delivery and got myself the best almond butter and honeycomb money could buy and some amazing crackers to go with it.
I will now snack from my elf plate while imagining myself to be some Engineer of Arda instead of the poor bastard who got stuck doing the paging system.
I’ve had a project in my mind for a while that I’ll call Engineering Arda. I want to find others in the architecture and engineering fields, also students and those interested, and do some kind of small engineering project together.
Maybe we could do the engineering and architecture for a Hobbit Hole or Dwarven Mine, or Celebrimbor’s Forge, or the Mindon… etc, and produce a couple of basic drawings and details for it? And a short spec section?
I have access to AutoCAD and Revit. I’m in Electrical Engineering so not directly applicable to something set in what appears to be a pre-electrical era, but still. I can get creative like I did with the Palantír drawing.
