Arthur’s main feelings towards Alfred are uncharacteristically straight-forward - he rather likes Alfred, enjoys hanging out with him, and is happy to be his friend. Alfred is rather open about his positive feelings towards Arthur and their banter is pretty openly playful, which helps Arthur feel more secure.
That being said, there’s a lot of background frustration that Arthur feels towards certain mindsets Alfred has. Having known Alfred since he was little (and since Arthur was a bratty, conceited teen) it’s impossible to resist the urge to correct and mentor him, and he does somewhat enjoy that, but there’s a fair amount of anxiety that comes with letting Alfred run wild.
