In The Magic City, Chapters 9-11, Philip showed a tremendous amount of immaturity. The image and quote above, “He walked straight into the arms of Helen,” illustrates Philip’s desire to always be with Helen. This could also be a play on gender roles, as Philip was raised by Helen, which possibly may alter Philips view of the traditional gender roles for women. Further in the reading, and many times before, Philip looked to Lucy to conduct the ‘brave acts.’
