Reflection
1. English studies is the teaching of the English language in schools. It is about learning more about the English language beyond reading and writing. It includes using literature to learn the ways others think, and how to express yourself through reading and writing. It includes learning how to write in different styles, and how to apply knowledge you have learned into your own writing. Some styles taught may include storytelling, poetry, poem writing, creative writing, and persuasive writing. I feel this way because all of the English classes I have ever taken were about learning how to read, then how to write. We always learn about how to write creatively, opinion based, and how to analyze a text and use examples. In the past I have either analyzed texts, or wrote something that gives some insight about me and my life. An example of English studies would be analyzing a certain period and determining their styles of writing. For me, English Studies was always a class where we read certain styles of literature throughout most of the year. An example would be when I spent almost an entire semester reading and analyzing different works of Shakespeare. To sum it up, English Studies is learning how to use the English language to express yourself, convey emotion, to summarize other people's works and more.
2. I learned that there are many things you can accomplish in an English class. We spent many classes peer reviewing and because everyone took it seriously I got great feedback. I always hated peer reviewing but this class showed me when others are passionate, they can be very helpful. I also learned that I can enjoy writing. Before this class I always dreaded having to complete English class assignments. I had fun completing almost every assignment in this class. The discipline encompasses so much that there are some aspects I enjoy!
3. English majors can do a variety of jobs besides teaching. They can work for magazines, journals, be editors, authors and more. Having a degree in English gives you many opportunities.
4. If I was an English major I would want to review popular culture things like movies, books, and music. When I am very interested in a topic I enjoy writing. I also think that would be a fun job.
5. This was my second English course I have taken in college. Overall, this was one of my favorite classes Ive ever taken. The assignments were explained thoroughly and we had ample time to complete them. Not only that, but I enjoyed blogging and many other activities we did in this class. I would 10/10 recommend this course to anyone!

I feel like different classes require different levels of academic integrity. Like, I would never dare cheat in English class, but as soon as those delta maths come out i'm done, like i'm not doing this anymore. Now if i had a good teacher this would change, but when the teacher is doing pushups mid test and offers chatGPT to write emails... yeah im not doing that
