ok guys new fic idea (ignore the fact i havent finished my last 2) where like for whatever reason simon has to leave the biodome for like 2 ish days (work trip maybe? like i feel like adrian got him a job on erid) and he comes back to find that his dumbass of a husband (grace) just didnt sleep the entire time bc he forgot (like legit just forgot, his science was too appealing) and then cuddles and sleep ensue!! :D

Give me a Simon who doesn't know how to say NO especially about little things. Like his not totally comfortable with something, but its not being thrown into the blood ocean levels of bad so he just goes S'fine.

And it takes like a couple of months before Grace realizes the difference between s'fine and fuck yes angel. And once it clicks, he starts treating Simon’s this is fine go ahead as him saying no.

Like Grace wants to take a sample of like his blood or whatever. And Grace has helped him so much so even through he doesn't want to he just goes s'fine

Imgaine the first time Grace does this. Grace asks something simple and Simon gives a slight nod goes s'fine. And instantly Grace goes alright we're not doing this. Simon is just so startled, but the fact that Grace noticed and cares.

I like to think if Simon does freak out when first waking up in the Hail Mary it would be because of Rocky but it plays out a certain way.

So Simon meets Grace when he wakes up and is explained about where he was and where they’re headed. Simon is calm and nodding along before Rocky rolls in and then the alarms in Simon’s head goes off. The last alien he met tried to kill him and he really doesn’t want Grace to get hurt so he launches himself onto his feet and places himself between Rocky and Grace.

Rocky isn’t offended in the slightest.

Cause here’s a man who just woke up from a coma, missing an arm, malnourished, dehydrated as all hell, barely standing, and just met Grace but is willing to place himself in what he sees as danger. In Erid that’s seen as the ideal trait for a potential mate. Fighting until the end. Protecting your mate with everything you have even if it isn’t much.

Yes, this is perfect mate for Grace.
