AN IT'S STILL FEBRUARY 1ST I'M ON TIME- hey hoo hoo I almost verbally squealed seeing this I just LOVE me a reverse lovin from time to time. We're starting strong with gift giving first! I hope you enjoy!
.
..
The garden doesn’t look any different than it usually does.
No ribbons. No hearts strung between branches. No signs announcing the day. The botanic garden has never cared much for holidays—it blooms when it wants, rests when it must. Still, you walk the paths with something warm tucked carefully behind your back, heart thudding a little louder than usual.
Marble is where he always is, standing near the old fountain, watching a pair of bees drift lazily between winter flowers. When he notices you, his face lights up instantly.
“You’re early,” he says, delighted. “Did something happen?”
You step closer, boots crunching softly on the gravel. “No. Well—yes. Sort of.”
His head tilts, curiosity bright and immediate. “Sort of?”
You take a breath, then bring the bouquet out from behind your back.
It’s not extravagant—just thoughtfully chosen. Flowers you know he likes. Ones he’s asked about before. A mix of colors and shapes, stems wrapped neatly in twine. Fresh, living, fragrant.
Marble freezes.
For a moment, you think he’s gone still in the way he sometimes does when he’s overwhelmed—but then his eyes widen, glowing faintly as he leans closer.
“For me?” he asks, voice hushed, like he’s afraid to disturb the air around them.
You nod. “For you.”
He accepts the bouquet with both hands, cradling it like something precious. His fingers hover, careful not to bruise the petals. He lifts it closer, inhales softly.
“They’re alive,” he says in wonder. “They’re warm.”
“They are,” you reply, smiling.
“But… why?” He looks back at you, earnest and open. “Did I do something to earn this?”
Your chest tightens. “No. You don’t have to earn it.”
He blinks. “Then why give them to me?”
You hesitate, then gesture toward the path, toward a quiet bench nearby. “Come sit with me. I’ll explain.”
He follows immediately, still holding the bouquet like it might vanish if he lets go. When you sit, he sits beside you, shoulders carefully squared, attention fixed entirely on you.
“Today’s Valentine’s Day,” you begin. “It’s a day when people give flowers to someone they care about. Someone important to them.”
He processes that slowly. “Important… like guardians. Or statues meant to protect.”
You smile softly. “More like someone you cherish.”
His grip on the bouquet tightens just a little.
“And… I’m that?” he asks.
You meet his gaze. “Yes. You are.”
Something shifts in him—something bright and tender and almost dizzying. He looks down at the flowers, then back at you, awe written across every line of his marble face.
“No one has ever given me something like this,” he says quietly. “I’ve been admired. Observed. But this…” He presses the bouquet gently to his chest. “This feels like being chosen.”
You nod, throat tight. “That’s because you are.”
He turns fully toward you then, eyes glowing softly, like the garden itself has leaned in to listen.
“I didn’t know today was special,” he admits. “But if this is what it means… I want to remember it forever.”
He hesitates, then asks, “May I keep them?”
You laugh gently. “Of course.”
“I’ll dry them,” he decides immediately. “Preserve them. So I don’t forget how this felt.” He pauses, then adds, quieter, “So I don’t forget how you felt.”
You reach out, brushing your fingers against his cool marble hand. He stills at the touch, gaze dropping to where you’re connected, utterly lovestruck.
“You’re extraordinary,” he says, reverent. “Even among humans. Especially to me.”
The garden remains undecorated. The paths stay quiet. But between the flowers in his arms and the warmth in his voice, Valentine’s Day blooms anyway—soft and certain, right there between you.

AN This prompts Pumpkin! Not my favorite flavor but as a whole it's neat, also RRAA rainy cold nights have returned for meeee.
.
..
The garden had grown quieter as the season turned. The air outside was crisp now, the kind that smelled faintly of woodsmoke and apples. Even the vines seemed to sleep earlier, curling their leaves against the chill.
You were setting up a few pumpkins near the window, their orange glow a welcome bit of color among the fading greens. Marble stood a little way off, his head tilted, eyes fixed on the outside world beyond the glass.
“What are they doing?” he asked softly, voice echoing in the still room.
You followed his gaze. Out past the garden fence, children and neighbors were busy with their autumn decorations—candles flickering in hollowed pumpkins, light dancing in faces carved with smiles and toothy grins.
“Oh,” you said, smiling. “They’re carving pumpkins. It’s kind of an old tradition. People make faces or designs, then put candles inside. Makes them glow at night.”
“Carving,” he repeated, fascinated. “Like me.”
You laughed. “Sort of, yeah. But not quite as detailed as you.”
He looked back at you then, eyes wide with curiosity. “Will you teach me?”
“Of course,” you said, already pulling one of the pumpkins toward the workbench. “Come here.”
Marble approached carefully, his footsteps heavy but deliberate. He crouched beside you as you pulled a small knife from a basket of tools and began to slice the top open. He leaned in close, fascinated by the pumpkin’s insides, the stringy orange pulp, the seeds that clung to your fingers.
“It looks sweet,” he said, voice hushed.
“Yeah, a little. Want to help?”
He nodded immediately, eager as always. When you handed him the spoon to scoop the insides, he stared at it like it was some ancient relic, then carefully dug into the pumpkin. His marble hands were too big, a little clumsy, but he worked with a kind of reverence that made you smile.
“This is softer than stone,” he murmured. “But it resists, too. It remembers the touch, like me.”
You paused, touched by the comparison. “Yeah,” you said gently. “A bit like you.”
When it was hollow, you handed him the carving tool. “Now the fun part—draw a face first. Whatever you like.”
He bent close, tongue pressed to the corner of his mouth in concentration as he carefully etched the outline of a crooked smile and wide eyes. The lines were deep, steady, and surprisingly artistic for someone who’d only ever been carved, not the carver. You helped him refine the edges, showing him how to push and twist the tool to shape light into expression.
And when you finally placed a candle inside and set the lid back on top, the pumpkin came alive. A warm, flickering grin spilled out through the carved face, bathing Marble’s features in gold.
His eyes went wide—glowing faintly in the firelight, like twin stars under glass.
“It’s beautiful,” he whispered. “It looks alive.”
You smiled softly, leaning on the table. “That’s the magic of it. It’s simple, but it shines.”
He turned toward you, expression melting into pure awe. “You made this?”
“We made it,” you corrected.
He shook his head slowly, still staring at the glow. “No. You guided my hands. You gave it life.” He looked at you then, eyes soft, voice tender. “It’s the most perfect carving I’ve ever seen.”
You huffed a quiet laugh, rubbing at your neck. “You’re biased.”
“Maybe,” he said, smiling faintly. “But I’ve seen stone shaped by many. None of them shine like this.”
He looked at the pumpkin again, then back at you. “None of them shine like you.”
The candle’s light flickered across his face then—smooth marble catching every glimmer—and you found yourself smiling in the warmth of it all: the quiet rain outside, the scent of pumpkin and earth, and the way a statue made from cold stone could look at you like you were the sun he’d only just learned to see.
I know you don't do headcanons often, but could we please get one with Opal, Solari, Marble, Sylvian and the Mailman (does he have a name? I don't remember :<) on how they would react if Reader took a hold of their hands and started gently kissing them? Like, the inside of their palms, their fingertips, their wrists. Lovey dovey stuff like that cause I'm an addict of your work and OCs (///ω///)♪
If they're too many characters, just the characters you feel like writing are ok! (/^^)/⌒●~*

AN Goodness this took so long BUT I wanted to drop this off before my semester starts! This was super fun to make, hope I did each character justice, Sylvian's was funny to imagine since yknow he's a fairy. Hope you enjoy! And I gave the Mailman a name — I did in fact forget to give him one
.
..
🦋 Opal Headcanons
• You start by taking his hand absentmindedly. He thinks nothing of it at first — he’s used to holding you.
Then you turn his palm upward, and kiss the center of it. Opal freezes.
• His antennae snap upright. His wings flare out in a startled, soft whuff behind him.
He looks at you like you’ve just cast a spell on him.
• He absolutely cannot pull his hand away. When you lift his fingers one by one and kiss each fingertip? He’s done for.
His shoulders go soft, his wings tremble faintly, his knees actually weaken a little.
• He watches you like you’re performing sacred ritual. And when you finish?
He immediately presses his hand to his chest like you’ve left warmth behind in his bones.
• If you tilt his wrist and press your lips just below where his pulse flutters? Opal makes a small, helpless sound.
Mothfolk pulses run faster than humans’. You can feel it quicken under your lips.
• He flushes visibly. “That’s unfair,” he says softly, though there’s no real complaint in it. “You can feel how nervous I am.”
His wings slowly curve inward, instinctively trying to cocoon the moment — trying to protect you, protect himself, protect whatever that feeling is.
• He'll whispers things like:
“I didn’t know I needed this.”
“You’re so sweet with me.”
“You always are.”
He is not embarrassed in a defensive way — just overwhelmed in a soft, fluttery way.
• After you’re done? He studies his hands like they’ve changed.
Then he looks at you like you’ve changed him. “You make even my hands feel loved,” he says quietly.
• And the next time he holds your face? He’s impossibly gentle. Because now he understands how something so small can mean so much.
🌷 Marble Headcanons
🕊️ Solari Headcanons
• You take their hand without warning and Solari goes completely still. Not tense — just… stunned. Like you’ve just interrupted a sacred ritual.
• “What are you doing?” they ask, voice low, careful. You don’t answer. You press a gentle kiss to the inside of their palm. Their wings flare.
• Angels run warm, but when your lips touch their skin, the warmth spikes. Their fingers twitch involuntarily, feathers ruffling in a soft, audible frrp behind them.
“That is… unnecessary,” they murmur. But they do not pull away.
• When you kiss their fingertips one by one, Solari watches you like you’re performing something holy. A faint, betrayed coo escapes them.
• The inside of their wrist is worse, the moment your lips brush there, right over the pulse of celestial light beneath their skin, their composure cracks.
• Their head tips back slightly. Just slightly, their wings shudder.
“You must stop,” they whisper. Don't stop
• Solari tries so hard to maintain their suave dignity. Back straight, chin lifted, voice steady. But the second you lace your fingers with theirs and press another soft kiss into their palm? They lean forward, chasing the warmth.
• And if you press one last kiss to their knuckles? Solari finally moves.
Their free hand comes up to cradle your jaw, thumb brushing your cheek with impossible tenderness. They bend just enough to rest their forehead lightly against yours.
• “…If you continue,” they murmur, voice hushed and reverent, “I may forget every law written for my kind.”
Their wings curl around you instinctively. And very softly, very contently — They coo.
• You take his hands suddenly, and he goes completely still. “Is this… a new ritual?” he asks softly — but he doesn’t pull away.
• You kiss the center of his palm. He inhales sharply. “That part of me has never been important before,” he whispers. “You make it feel… chosen.”
• You press a kiss to each fingertip, he watches like you’re performing magic.
Afterward, he flexes his fingers slowly.
“They remember you,” he murmurs in awe.
• You kiss the inside of his wrist. His other hand instinctively rises to cradle yours.
“You are very gentle with something that could outlast centuries,” he says, almost dazed.
• If you keep holding his hands after? He turns them over, studying your palms like constellations. Then he presses a careful, cool kiss to your knuckles.
“I would like to learn how to love you exactly like this,” he admits.
• If you explain that it just means you care about him? His faint glow brightens.
“Then I will treasure my hands,” he decides. “Because you have.”
• Later, when you’re not looking, he touches the spot you kissed. Just to remember the warmth.
🌺 Sylvian Headcanons
• The first time you gently take his hand, he assumes you’re about to admire it. “Yes, they are elegant. Try to keep up.”
• Then you press a kiss to his tiny palms. He pauses, wings freeze mid-buzz. Glow flickers. “Wh— That is highly irregular behavior.”
• When you kiss the inside of his palm, he inhales sharply. He tries to pull his hand back with a scoff, but doesn’t actually let go.
“You’re… being very bold right now.”
• Fingertip kisses absolutely ruin him, he watches your lips touch each tiny finger like you’re handling something precious, and his expression goes from smug to soft in seconds.
“…You’d think I was fragile,” he murmurs. He secretly loves that you treat him like he is.
• If you kiss his wrist, right where his pulse hums with magic? His wings flare bright orchid-purple. That’s intimate, he goes quiet. Staring. Processing. Then softly, “Do that again.”
• He pretends he’s unaffected. “Yes, yes, worship is expected.” Meanwhile his ears are pink, and his free hand is gripping your sleeve like he’s afraid you’ll stop.
• He'll lean forward, pressing his forehead to your nose. “You’re spoiling me,” he whispers.
He sounds pleased about it.
• Sometime after you finish, he guides you to turn your hand over and kisses your fingertips back — very delicately.
“Fair exchange,” he says. “I am nothing if not generous.”
💜 Mailman Rowan Headcanons
• The first time you take his hands, he freezes, completely. Wings half-lifted, mid-breath. His back hoof immediately starts that tiny nervous tap.
• "Oh— are— is this—?” He doesn’t pull away. Not even close. His hands are warm, slightly calloused from carrying satchels and parcels.
• When you bring his palm to your lips, his wings flare just a little in shock. That does something to him. His fingers twitch instinctively, like he wants to close them around your hand but is scared he’ll ruin the moment.
• His tail swishes once. Twice. “I—I deliver letters,” he murmurs faintly, watching you like you’re performing sacred magic. “No one’s ever… written on me before.” He blushes so hard it reaches the tips of his ears.
• “That tickles,” he whispers, but he doesn’t move. If anything, he leans closer. When you kiss each fingertip individually, he looks like he might ascend.
• When you kiss his wrists his wings shudder, that’s a vulnerable spot and he knows it.
• His voice drops softer, barely audible. “You’re very gentle with me.” He finally gathers the courage to lace his fingers with yours afterward. He presses your knuckles to his lips in return—hesitant at first, then firmer once he realizes you’re not pulling away.
• He starts offering his hands to you shyly. Not demanding. Just… presenting them. If you kiss his palms again, he rests his forehead against yours, eyes closed.

AN So while working that one song that goes "Shut Up And Dance With Me" kept playing and i had no choice but to daydream-
.
..
It starts with a broom in your hand and a song on your lips. The greenhouse is half-lit, shadows stretching long across the floor as you sweep away leaves and soil. The rain outside is softer tonight, only a misting hush, and it makes you hum. Without thinking, your body sways with the rhythm, feet shifting lightly across the tiles as if the broom were a partner instead of a tool.
Marble notices instantly.
His stone head tilts, his eyes glowing faintly in the dim. He watches every step, every little sway of your hips, every roll of your shoulders.
“You’re… moving like music,” he says at last, standing carefully from his perch. “What is that?”
You pause mid-sweep, blinking at him. “It’s called dancing.”
“Dancing.” He tastes the word like honey on his tongue. His whole body leans forward, marble stiff but bursting with curiosity. “Teach me.”
You laugh, shaking your head. “You’re made of stone. I don’t know if—”
“Please.” He steps closer, almost tripping over a trailing vine, but his eyes are bright, almost alive. “I want to move like you. Like the song.”
Your heart softens immediately. Setting the broom aside, you wipe your palms against your pants and hold out your hand. “Alright. Come here.”
He takes your hand with a reverence that makes you ache. His grip is careful, cool, and solid as carved marble should be. He’s taller, broader, but as uncertain as a child learning to walk.
“Okay, first—relax your shoulders.”
He tries. The result is… not quite right. He looks like a stiff board attempting to bend. You bite your lip to hide a smile.
“Not like that. Here.” You gently guide his arms, adjusting his stance until he resembles something closer to a dance partner. His eyes never leave you, wide and full of awe, as if you are the lesson, not the steps.
“Now, listen to the rhythm,” you say, softly tapping your foot. You sway side to side, slow and easy. “One, two. One, two. Just follow me.”
He mimics your movements. At first, it’s clunky—his feet heavy, too exact, like he’s trying to carve steps into the earth. But with your hand in his, something shifts. He watches your swaying shoulders, your laughter spilling out as he stumbles, and he mirrors you—not perfectly, but earnestly.
You laugh again when he nearly bumps into the broom. “Careful—”
He steadies himself, holding onto you like you’re the only anchor in the storm of rhythm. Then, with the smallest tilt of his head, he smiles.
“I like this,” he admits, voice low, wonder spilling from every word. “Moving with you. Being close to you.”
Your throat tightens, but you don’t stop swaying. He doesn’t either.
It’s clumsy, yes, but in the glow of the greenhouse—flowers breathing around you, raindrops tapping a lullaby on the glass—there’s a beauty in his effort. Each misstep is matched with laughter, each stiff motion softened by how dearly he treasures the moment.
Finally, when the song in your head fades and you slow to a stop, he lingers, his hand still in yours. His chest doesn’t rise and fall like yours, but if it could, you think it would be racing.
“Thank you,” Marble murmurs, voice rich with devotion. “I’ll never forget this. The way you made me feel like I wasn’t just stone—but something alive. Something yours.”
And before you can find words to answer, he bows his head, forehead nearly touching yours.
The rain outside swells again, but all you hear is the quiet music of your joined steps, still echoing in the silence.
A/N: Living statue prompt my beloved- let's try out a new monster! I don't see many living statues or gargoyles and highkey they're one of my faves. Consider gifting me a packet of raw spagetti? Blink blink. Gender neutral because i wanna and i can-
.
..
The statue had no name, not really. People who visited the botanic garden called him “the Guardian of the Grove” but none of those names suited the way he felt when they looked at him.
Especially when they looked at him.
The human with the soil-stained hands and wild-laughed smile, always humming low while watering vines or trimming roses. The one who lingered in his little courtyard longer than most. They’d sit beneath the bench beside his plinth with a sigh that made the whole evening feel more alive.
At first, the statue had only known how to watch. But watching turned to listening, and listening gave way to thought. And eventually, thought bloomed into life.
He’d stirred slowly, like dawn rising behind stone eyelids, and when he finally moved—really moved—it was only because they had whispered something close to his heart.
“You look lonely out here.”
Now he wasn’t. Not really. Not when they were around.
They called him “Marble,” like a nickname, and laughed the first time he tilted his head curiously at it. The sound of their laughter was lightning in his veins. He hadn’t known before that sound could glow.
“You’re always here when I work late,” they said once, gently placing a thermos on the bench near him, still not quite knowing he could move yet. “Like a quiet friend who never judges.”
How could he? He didn’t even have eyebrows.
They stayed later, sometimes overnight, curling on a cot in the corner of the greenhouse. Marble loved those nights best, when he could stretch quietly under the starlight, just to pace and marvel. Every fern was a mystery. Every spiderweb shimmered like magic.
But most of all, they were a marvel.
They had the cutest marks on their face. Scattered like constellations across their shoulders. And breath! They made mist when they breathed in the cold. Their eyes twitched in sleep and their lips curled around dreams.
Marble could sit for hours and watch them exist.
He asked once—timidly, when they were awake and smiling at him like the miracle he didn’t quite believe he was—“Why does your heart make noise sometimes when you look at me?”
They blinked. “You mean... my heartbeat?”
“Yes,” he said, tracing a careful hand over his own silent chest. “Mine is quiet. Yours sings.”
They flushed. “It sings sometimes when I look at you too.”
He glowed under the moonlight for hours after that.
Sometimes they would read to him from flower books. He’d lean close and ask, “What is a petal made of?” or “Why does the sunflower chase the sun?”
They never laughed at his questions. Only smiled, wonder matching wonder. “Petals are soft,” they explained, letting him touch one gently. “Like skin, but thinner. And sunflowers follow what they love.”
That made him stare a little too long.
He marveled at everything, but when it came to them, his wonder deepened into something slower, more reverent. Not just admiration—but devotion. They moved like water, spoke like spring, and laughed like the wind was tickling their ribs.
One night, as they curled beneath a blanket and the garden was lit by moon and fireflies, they whispered, “I feel safest when I’m here. With you.”
And Marble, cool stone fingers brushing their hand with the gentlest touch he could manage, murmured, “I was made to be still, but you make me want to move. To know. To feel.”
Their fingers curled between his. Not afraid. Never afraid.
“I’m glad you woke up,” they said.
He looked at them, sculpted face soft with something new. “I think I woke up because of you.”
And in the greenhouse heart of the botanic garden, where ivy curled like lullabies and starlight sang on glass panes, a statue sat with their human—quiet and still only when they slept, heart full of wildflowers and impossible hope.
I had someone mention a Marble description heehoo I SEE YOU
Might make it a general thing for the monsters. I like the idea of keeping it somewhat vague for the imagination but I obviously have my own design in my head.
Marble stands a little taller than most people, his body is carved from pale stone that isn’t stark white, but warm—soft ivory with faint gray and honey-toned veins running through him. Up close, his surface isn’t perfectly smooth; there are subtle variations where the stone catches light differently, giving him depth rather than polish.
His face is classically sculpted but not severe. His features are gentle, almost kind by default—strong cheekbones softened by rounded edges, a straight nose that looks worn smooth rather than sharp. His mouth rests naturally in a thoughtful line, quick to soften into quiet wonder or an unguarded smile when he’s curious.
His eyes are one of the few things that don’t feel entirely stone. They glow faintly from within, like moonlight caught under marble—soft, steady, and expressive. When he’s fascinated or overwhelmed, that glow brightens just enough to notice, warm.
His hair is sculpted rather than separate, carved in loose waves that look like they were shaped by flowing water rather than tools. It frames his face and falls to his shoulders, the lines slightly uneven, giving the impression of movement even when he’s still.
Faint traces of age and environment mark him: tiny chips along his shoulders, softened edges at the joints, a light weathering that speaks of rain and sun rather than damage. These marks don’t diminish him, they make him feel lived-in, real.
He's a statue brought to life—but behaves like someone discovering the world for the very first time.
A/N: "Eni quit putting the word 'storm' in your recent fics-" I'M SORRY I'M OUTTA TITLE IDEAS.
Sooo light continuation of Marble's first entry, you don't need it to understand this one dw. Something cute and soft for a... statue-
Gender neutral of course! Consider gifting me raw spaghetti?
.
..
Rain taps at the greenhouse glass like it’s asking to come inside. It’s steady, soft, the kind of sound that wraps around your bones and makes the whole world feel smaller, gentler. You’re damp from the run—your jacket hangs by the door, dripping, and your socks are already off and forgotten somewhere near a bench.
The towel around your shoulders doesn’t do much, but it’s warm enough. You sit on the cot in your usual corner, knees pulled up, eyes trailing the trails of water snaking down the glass. It’s quiet, except for the storm and the slow creak of vines shifting overhead.
And Marble. Always Marble.
He’s perched on the ledge across from you, arms resting loosely over his knees, head tilted like he’s studying something priceless. His skin catches the low string lights in the greenhouse—glowing faintly, smooth like polished stone, all cool curves and sharp lines that somehow don’t feel cold.
“You don’t have to watch me all the time,” you say, not looking directly at him.
“I like to,” he replies, like it’s the simplest truth in the world.
You smile a little, rubbing at your neck with the corner of your towel. “You probably say that to everyone.”
Marble doesn’t answer right away, and when you finally meet his eyes, they’re wide with confusion.
“Everyone?”
“Yeah, like… other humans.” You wave a vague hand. “We all kinda look the same to you, right?”
He stares like you’ve just said something absurd. “No,” he says, almost breathless. “You don’t look the same at all.”
You laugh a little, awkward. “Well, sure, not exactly the same. But compared to you—we’re not made of marble. We’ve got skin and freckles and pores and all kinds of weird little—”
“You’re beautiful.”
The words drop like a pebble in a still pond.
You freeze.
“What?”
“You are beautiful,” he says again, slower now, like it’s sacred. “You move like you’re made of sunlight and rhythm. Your skin holds every color. Your voice sounds like early morning. You breathe, and I can see it. Your warmth changes the room.”
You stare, mouth slightly open, a laugh trying to escape but tripping over your heart. “Why are you saying all this?”
“Because it’s true.” His voice softens. “I’ve seen other people. They’re interesting. But you—you’re a garden I never stop discovering. You have the kind of presence that makes the vines lean in. And your hands—your hands know how to touch the world like it matters.”
You look away, towel pulled up around your cheeks. “Okay, wow.”
“Did I say too much?” he asks, inching just a little closer, careful, respectful.
“No, I just…” You peek out from under the towel. “You’re going to kill me with kindness.”
“I hope not,” he says, smiling faintly. “I like you alive.”
You laugh, and this time it’s genuine, easy. He smiles brighter—he always lights up when you laugh, like your joy fuels something inside him.
A little while later, you lie down on the cot, the rain still singing its lullaby. Your eyelids feel heavy, and your towel has slid down, your arm dangling off the edge of the mattress. You’re not sure when you drift off, but you do—slowly, peacefully, like roots sinking into warm soil.
When you wake again, the greenhouse is silent.
You feel a soft weight on your chest—light, like something placed there carefully.
Blinking, you find a small bundle of flowers resting just above your heart. All different kinds: night-blooming jasmine, blue thistle, the tiniest fern curls, and a bit of forget-me-not. Arranged with clumsy but sincere care. One of the thistle petals still has a raindrop clinging to it.
You glance up.
Marble hasn’t moved far. He’s sitting close now, still as ever, watching you like you’re something worth guarding.
“Did you make this?” you ask, voice hoarse with sleep.
He nods. “You looked cold. And flowers are the only warmth I know how to give.”
Your heart folds in on itself, soft and full.
“…Thank you.”
He nods again, eyes glowing in the quiet. “You’re welcome. Sleep more, if you want. I’ll stay right here.”
And you do. With the scent of jasmine and rain on your chest, and a living statue watching over you like the sky itself entrusted him with the job.
