could u do stand analysis/headcanons for enigma(the stand not the user lol)

absolutely! i sort of smashed the two together into this big ramble here,

ive mentioned this before but Enigma doesn’t speak (not even telepathically) but communicates in an approximation of a purr/growl that sounds like shuffling cards/flipping through pages when necessary 

the majority of the stand’s body has a texture similar to thick cardstock or board books, however the raised pink patterns along its face and arms have the texture of leatherbound hardcover book 

Enigma isn’t a very active stand in term of interaction. Terunosuke has very little interest in his stand as more than a tool and Enigma is typically content to remain unseen and unbothered even when given the free reign to roam, the stand will often just stand or sit in one place perfectly still, just observing. they prefer to be reactive, waiting for interaction from other stands or their users (which are viewed with healthy amounts of suspicion given Enigma’s lack of combat ability) Enigma shows some interest in books, though whether or not they can actually read is up for debate. Terunosuke will sometimes provide his stand with art books or origami instructions. occasionally Enigma will try folding books pages into shapes but they havent quite mastered it yet. and naturally they enjoy things like optical illusions and 3d puzzles. 

the stand relies on detail and planning, requiring Terunosuke to have extremely sharp observation skills and likely forces him to research an opponent prior to any interaction if he wants to increase his chances

now in terms of analysis for what Enigma means as a reflection of Terunosuke.... Fundamentally, Terunosuke is a coward. he avoids direct confrontation, sets traps, etc.  And in a word, Enigma compartmentalizes. tucks any and everything away until Terunosuke is ready to deal with it or he deems it useful. Terunosuke is a detached person who lives his life in isolation to the very end. He’s obsessed with observing others and gaining their attention the only way he knows works- fear. With a stand like Enigma, he finally has control over making others feel what he always has
