I'm with you but I'm also admittedly dying over "assuming all cars were inexplicably replaced with metal folding chairs"

Well, so am I. Although my dubious insight may come from the fact that those chairs were supposed to be horses before they rearranged the staging to something less...odd. 

Perhaps it’s in the far-future of this continuity, where the tendency towards Latinate names (Vuvalini? Furiosa?) has spun to its logical conclusion and all they have left of the cars are scraps of metal which they then manufactured into folding chairs.

it’s great that you have the time to read for pleasure, you’re very lucky! i’m trying to read fifty books over the course of the year and i’m so behind because work takes up so much of my life. the books is by elizabeth knox, if you do read it please tell me what you think, because it’s a novel that’s very close to my heart!

Wait is that the same book as that film that is apparently awful but has Gaspard Ulliel as some sort of stupidly pretty homoerotic angel or something like that? (you can tell I've not seen it only the gifsets and I've been told that's all I should try to see)

It is indeed, yes! 

I refuse to watch the movie, but the book is honestly in my top three favourites of all time and I one hundred percent recommend it. It revolves around a wine maker who meets an angel who’s trying to understand more about how time works for humans, so the angel decides to visit this human for one evening on the same day each year and listen to what has happened to him in the year that’s passed, and it’s so beautifully written and characterised and I absolutely adore it. 

And yeah, the book centers around a queer couple and there’s also a canon poly relationship that’s central to the plot and some really wonderful female characters too, if that’s the kind of thing people enjoy.

i love enjolrastopheles because his wit and his kindness and his intelligence and his meta and his writing and his deep knowledge of musicals, literature, writing, archaeology, history, etc., etc., is a gift, he is a gift. also i love all his posts on his pets, and i love his tags, and i love that he takes us to museums with him via pictures. he’s the best. ^^
