I got my Pearrings today and I couldn’t be happier. This made my day so much. Thank you so much @enjouji for taking the time. The packaging was just too cute and so nice.
Miracles
A birthday present for @enjouji, one of the kindest, warmest people it has ever been my great good fortune to be friends with, and who wanted tanahina. I hope you enjoy, bb!
It begins with a miracle, more or less. It begins the day you come to understand what a miracle is.
If you’d ever really thought about it before that day (and you haven’t), you probably would’ve said a miracle is the impossible becoming possible. And that’s close, but it’s not quite right, not really. Miracles aren’t about possible and impossible. Miracles are about believing. Miracles are about faith.
And you believed it, you all believed it, when Daichi said this was the year you’d go to nationals. You really, really believed you could. You didn’t need a miracle because going to nationals was impossible – it was always possible, you knew that, somewhere in the back of your head, even on the worst days of a rough year. You didn’t need a miracle because it was impossible. You needed a miracle because, one by one, you stopped believing.
Asahi crumbled first. He always felt the pressure the most, with the weight of the title Ace always heavy on his shoulders. Asahi crumbled, and Noya shattered, your best friend turned into a mass of broken edges all pointing out, closed himself off and disappeared for a month.
Suga didn’t crumble, and Suga didn’t shatter, but something broke in him all the same, something that made his eyes duller and his smiles slower. You catch Daichi’s eyes on him all the time in those few weeks, and you see him wondering who’ll be next to break.
I won’t play without Asahi, Noya insists, if we play without him that just shows we can win without him.
But you won’t win without him, and everyone knows it. The team isn’t good enough to win without Asahi, and that’s just another way of saying the team isn’t good enough to win with me.
And that’s when you realize that you’re not merely the next one to break. That’s when you realize you’ve already broken.
You stopped believing.
You need a miracle.
Your miracle arrives with the grace of a meteor – a tiny, loud, hyperactive meteor with no regard for manners and a smile unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. You don’t recognize him for what he is, of course – that’s still months and months away. Mostly you recognize him as a pain in the ass.
But you recognize that something’s different. Between Daichi’s yelling, between the cold early mornings and long late nights and arms that burn from endless tosses and receives, something’s different. Something’s changing, in Daichi’s voice, in all the new first years, in Suga’s eyes on the sidelines…in that goddamned sunshine smile the first tie he hits the ground and his eyes pop open and the gym’s still ringing with the sound of that monster of a quick. I did it, I did it, sempai I did it! Hell yeah you did, now get out there and do it again—
He can do it again, you can do it again, and he’s shoving his crumpled application form into Daichi’s hands and turning to you with that blazing smile, and just for that moment it doesn’t matter if you ever make it to nationals, if you ever win another match, because nothing could ever be better than that smile.
You win, you keep winning, and that indefinable something just keeps changing. You win against Aoba Josai with no coach, no ace, no libero, no official matches as a team. Even against their ace’s monster spikes, against their years of practice and dtheir coordination and their strategy, against Oikawa’s eleventh-hour cannon of a serve, you win. You’re good enough. And you remember what it’s like to have faith in yourself, to have faith in each other, to have an advisor and a coach who believe in what you’re capable of.
It’s always been possible, it never stopped being possible. You just stopped believing. You lost your faith, in yourself, in your friends, in the dream you’d pinned to all your futures.
And then you got it back. In your aching muscles and your stinging palms, in Daichi pushing the first years behind him and Asahi calling for Suga’s toss. In Noya guarding your backs again, in your new coach grinning his crooked grin even when you’re ten points down. And most of all, in that sunbeam smile, you found your faith again.
All you needed was a miracle.

I LOVE MOST ROBIN COMBINATIONS except I never got into DickTim romantically. But the Batkids relationships are the Most Important Thing to me romantic or platonic. I will try to dig up some fic recs for you! <3
Oh man Dick/Tim is dear to my heart but I totally get it! Their relationships to each other are so important to. ;~; It was always my fav part about the comics. And thank you so much bb!

I love all the Robins. So much. What kind of fics do you enjoy reading? Because I have a whole bunch bookmarked. And which combinations are your preference?
OH man that is tough because I am still figuring it out but mostly I love Tim to bits and I like seeing his brain cope with his feelings on his duty as Robin/Red Robin and his older bros (and batman). I am not a huge fan of the new 52 stuff so maybe stuff unconnected to that? I would love to see what you have bookmarked! :D
