‘you know i love you, right?’
"Mmm. Of course I do. I only wish you'd be more careful, Delphini."
The mother and daughter lay side-by-side in Bella's bed one dreary english morning. Though the bed was luxurious and oversized, they opted to huddle together right in the middle like a pair of cats would for warmth. Silken sheets were cool on flesh. Their foreheads nearly touching, facing each other. The back of Bella's hand moved over Delphini's cheek, dressed in a nasty welt that stretched from her cheek to her lip.
The older witch had spent all of her life being known for being somewhat reckless when it came to most things, which included her battle style. It'd worked for her thus far, that was true. But there had been close calls. To watch as Delphini followed in her foosteps provided Bellatrix with a different point of view. One of a mother, who couldn't bare the thought of her only child stupidly making one wrong move and it costing the girl her life.
Bella's thumb traced gently over Delphini's fresh wound, earned just the night before. The bleeding had stopped, but her flesh was angry and inflamed. By the way in which Delphini winced under her touch it appeared it'd hurt her a great deal.
"This will take time to heal." Bella muttered, observing closely. "Even with magic. This was done with a blade, wasn't it? Look at what they've done to you.. your pretty little face, all spoiled." The older witch displayed a big pout and huffed, deciding then that whoever had done this would be dead before the week was out. "If you loved me as much as you claim to, you'd take a smarter approach to war than me. You would calculate your next moves and never lose focus.. Not even for a moment." Her mother's tone was eerily serious when she spoke, their eyes bore into the other's, Bella's concerned, before her face contorted dangerously continuing in a quiet hiss..
"Which one of them was it?"
