Hello! As a new reader of Ennead, I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on Seth's nurturing instincts. I think you may be the first fan I've met (which, to be fair, has so far been a small number) to give that side of his character any attention. Please and thank you!

YESSS absolutely!!

I think the way he acts with Bastet when she disguises herself as a kitten is probably the most real-time evidence we get and omg it's just so cute how he's like caring for this tiny kitten despite the fact that like EVERYTHING is going wrong, like he just genuinely feels comfort by doing things to take care of someone he feels needs care. In terms of flashbacks, we see him being soooo loving with Anubis and they seem to have such a wonderful relationship and it's so incredibly sad to see that that's completely gone at the beginning of S1. I think Set just abandoned having any genuine personal connections at that point because Osiris gave him trust issues so he's just too afraid to be vulnerable in front of anyone, including Anubis. And because he's so guarded and has this vicious dictator persona, even the act of being paternal seems too vulnerable and he doesn't want to show ANY sign of weakness. So he loses that connection with Anubis and is just a demanding asshole dad so Anubis doesn't like him by the beginning of S1.

I think there is ONE good part of Set losing his godly powers at the end of S1 and that is that he is reminded of how it feels to care for others. His lack of powers leaves him VERY vulnerable and for the most part that is just absolutely awful and makes his already terrible life even more terrible (being r4ped every other chapter, for example.) But the lack of power means he can't just escape conversations where he has to be emotional so he's able to open up in some ways to Horus (which kinda isn't great because Horus is NOT trustworthy, he does not know what boundaries are) and this makes him get back in touch with emotions besides rage, fear and false confidence. And because of that he's more able to care for kitten Bastet and pursue healing his relationship with Anubis.

But like also even in the midst of his rampage years, he mistook little Horus for Anubis because being a father is so instinctual for him like even when he was drunk on rage and bloodlust and maybe also alcohol too, he still had paternal instincts because at the end of the day he just wants to be a dad.

Is it wrong that I prefer past Seth’s relationship with Nephthys instead of his current relationship with Horus? Especially with how Horus treat Seth. I guess you can say son like father or smth

The way things are going they prooooobably aren't gonna get back together, which makes sense and I personally have made peace with because they're both very different people than they were before Osiris did his whole thing so like yeah that relationship isn't coming back. But that won't stop me from missing what they had in those flashbacks where they were like truly in love, I WANT THAT BACKKKK

Еnnead Аsks - I'm rereading the 40th chapter, which reveals the sexual abuse that Seth suffered at the hands of Osiris... and here are a few heart-wrenching details that have pierced my heart like shards of glass.

1 - During the blowjob, Osiris gently played with Seth's hair, and Seth scratched his thighs until they were bleeding. 2 - When Seth said it was painful, Osiris made him touch his own erection and told him he was pretending.

3 - Osiris literally told Set to relax, because he couldn't push any further inside him, because Set was obviously not relaxed/probably not physically aroused enough and was probably experiencing hyperventilation. 4 - Osiris apparently ejaculated inside Seth.

5 - Seth literally didn't understand why he was experiencing physical pleasure and why is he moaning. It seems that he started crying at that moment.

6 - When Osiris pressed him against the colony, Seth was literally staring at the vessels with Anubis's soul inside.

7 - It was after the rape that Seth's eyes became crazed.

I had to go back and reread it (along with a couple chapters before and after) cuz it's been almost a year since I read that part and oh lord reading this after knowing everything that happens later on it's like ten million times worse

Also your attention to all the little details is insane, I would be like woah that's so cool but in this case it just makes the scene so much more terrible, Set's over here drawing blood and all Osiris says is "Go deeper, you're bad at this"

ALSO the fact that he used Anubis' life as like a bargaining point is fucking insane I completely forgot he even did that like he made it seem like Set did it willingly cuz he was holding Anubis' life over his head like the way he manipulates people is so so so disgusting and calculated and it makes me want to scream.

The part where Set pulls away for a second to breathe and then Osiris is like "Well I guess we'll just have to do this another way" and the Set BEGS him to let him try to give him oral one more time so he can avoid an even more painful assault it's just heartbreaking, like you worded it perfectly there are shards of glass being stabbed into my heart, the blood is draining out and I am dying that's what this feels like

And the panels where it keeps switching between Isis' blood dripping and Set being assaulted?? That's fucking insane and terrifying, I forgot how crazy Isis' magic is

Anyways, these details are awful and terrible I am going to go weep bitterly in a corner, I think I've said it before but the relationship I have with this manhwa is basically toxic yaoi

Еnnead Аsks - Things that Ennead fandom in my home country should finally come to terms with.

1. Seth is androgynous, equally masculine and feminine, and can literally be mistaken for a woman in more feminine clothing.

2. Seth's character is much more than just "cool," "sharp-tongued," "charismatic," and "powerful." He has other qualities as well.

Just get over it.

Let Set experiment with gender!!! Let him have fun and dress a little girlypop without being S3XUALIZED. PLEASE. Let's let Set be fem and NOT be misogynistic about it

Bro people do not pay enough attention to the failure dad aspect of his personality, like he wants to be a papa he wants to raise his son, when Bastet was hanging out with his whole group in her little kitty form, Set was so into taking care of her. Еnnead Аsks - The Ennead fandom in my home country makes me want to jump out of a window or throw them out of a window, depending on what kind of nonsense they're talking about.

1. Seth - the whore that all of Egypt fucked... [he was fucking raped, sons of bitches!! rape doesn't even consider it real sex, fuck!!]

2. Seth doesn't really deserve sympathy as a victim, and he can only be hated as an aggressor. The terrible things he has done devalue his own suffering. [A little bit of background information - called blaming the victim!!! Do you fucking believe that all victims of violence just sit in a corner and cry after what happened!? He went through a whole lot of terrible unbearable trauma fucking hell!! I'm not saying that what he did doesn't matter because he's a victim, but fucking please stop devaluing him as a victim].

3. Horus x Seth is a beautiful couple, and only Horus can make Seth truly happy [you've already said and will say more than me, but damn it, I want to throw these particular jerks out the window].

In fact, they say even more shit, and that's just the worst of the three, and almost all of them treat Seth like shit, literally treating him like a piece of meat or an absolute evil... I literally ran away from there like a bat from hell.

I didn't realize the like fandom culture differed based on country but dude I am so sorry you have to deal with that cuz. Goodness. That sounds miserable

I think on the topic of Set being a morally grey character people need to better understand that people can be victims of abuse and deserve sympathy for that while still being held accountable in a reasonable way for their wrongdoings. Like yeah Set killed a ton of people and ruined his sisters' lives and he definitely deserved the loss of his godly powers he deserves to atone for his crimes but how the fuck is NONSTOP SEXUAL ASSAULT gonna help him become a better person like that's not something he or frankly anyone deserves

I do NOT get how people think Horus could ever make Set happy after what's been going on in the latest chapters like what about any of that looks like Set getting better and healing??????

What is this? A like-minded perspective on the work of Ennead? Have I found my people?/j No, but seriously, love your takes on the story and dynamics, I personally feel the same exact fucking way. HI SORRY I KEPT FORGETTING TO RESPOND TO THIS

It is good to find another kindred spirit, I've found that Tumblr is the best place to share ideas if you're looking for in depth discussion, the reading sites scare me sometimes cuz lowkey all the comments are mostly like "Set and Horus are so cute awwww" and then it's like. A clear absence of consent.

Anyways, I think the like mystery fantasy mythology parts of the plot are fun, like everything with the godly powers and magic and all the like battle scenes those are legitimately enjoyable to read and they're really well done too, the mirror situation and the recent moon temple arc were both really well written lore wise like that is one thing I will say Mojito did a good job of.

And honestly, there are some relationships I like. Thoth and Maat, they are sweet and they are wholesome and they are lesbians to me. The relationship between Isis and Nephthys seems like it is going to good places, they seem to support and care for each other and lord knows Ennead needs more of that. And like obviously, Set and Nephthys before shit went down they were sweet and GENUINELY HAPPY and I miss that for both of them. Also the sibling relationship between Set and Isis is something I long to be reignited I want them to be happy and put Osiris in a tiny little box where he can never escape. It's very niche, but there are a couple moments throughout the manhwa where Set and Horus have more of a mentor/apprentice type relationship and I LOVE IT SO MUCH THAT'S WHAT I WANT THEM TO HAVE LIKE THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE MEANT TO BEEEEEEE. But alas. Mojito had other plans. Set and Anubis is complicated, I don't know exactly how I feel about them and what I want for them but their relationship is most certainly not healthy. It is sad to me that Hathor is so in love with Horus because obviously he's obsessed with Set and while I don't want Set and Horus to be together I don't think Horus would enjoy a relationship with Hathor. I think she needs to realize she doesn't need a husband, girls are better anyways, and she can have Isis as a mother figure without marrying her son.

Like the rest of the fandom, I hate Foreign God he sucks he's actually insufferable and it breaks my heart that he's got a good character design. Hate everything about Osiris though, he ruins everything good and makes everyone's lives miserable like literally there is nothing likeable about him. His character archetype (charismatic "attractive" man in a position of power who charms his followers but is actually the most atrocious person alive) is one of my least favorites of all time like the way he messes with the story time and time again is so infuriating and I'd say I want him dead but he already IS DEAD

Something intresting i noticed:

In the myths wether Horus and Set whole "ordeal" depends on the version but in the versions where they have sex and it's non-consensual it's always SET who(tries to)rapes Horus

In Ennead Horus rapes Set constantly

In the myths Nephthys disguises herself as Isis to sleep with Osiris,this is rape by deception

In Ennead Osiris manipulates and rapes Nephthys

Probably overthinking this but for me this is proof that Mojito doesn't care about male victims because why would you turn the 2 male rape victims in the myths into rapists💀

Oh yeah every time I've read about Set's mythology he's always the one who initiates the sexual encounters with Horus (which he does technically do in Ennead the first time way back when in S1) and Nephthys is always consensually with Osiris so like idk what Mojito was doing with that. I think I can agree with changes from original mythology in adaptions for the sake of the plot but Ennead idk they just made everything BAD
