       She blushed a bit at being asked if that was what she wanted. She’d been looking for a simple yes or no so a question being asked towards her threw her off some. She saved the document on her laptop before closing it to look at Takeshi and talk to him. Clearing her throat some before she began speaking, “Yes. I do want that. I just was checking since we never really said anything to confirm that.”

        She hummed before leaning over to press a kiss to his cheek, “Sorry I guess that was a bit of a sudden question. I was assuming we were but then I was thinking about what if you didn’t see it that way and how embarrassing it would be if I was the only one who thought we were dating and all.” Her blush darkened some as she continued to ramble on through her embarrassment.

  The boy huffed and grunted as he struggled with the net wrapped around his body -- the rough ropes wriggling under his inky scales and cutting into the soft skin. Letting out a hiss of displeasure, Theo continued to try and detangle himself from the frustrating human contraption. Just when it seemed as if he was almost free, another part would work its way into knot until he was practically suffocating under the tawny string.

  Still, he worked his webbed fingers to the bone -- rushing to be free. He’d heard his kin talk about how humans took morning ‘ jogs ’ along the beach -- whatever those were -- and knew that in his current predicament, he’d be a goner if found. He was as good as gone. With this net taut around his tail and from where he’d washed ashore during high tide, he’d never be able to crawl back into the ocean in time. “Damn it, c’mon--!”

  The crunch of sand underfoot had him shooting up -- back ramrod straight and finned ears twitching in an attempt to listen closer.

        Sure Takeshi had said it was date night, but she thought they’d just go to their regular small pizza joint that they’d been hanging out in since they first started hanging out together. This... this was so much more than that. She was at a loss of words for a second. She just gripped Takeshi’s hand tightly before tears started gathering in her eyes. Since she had been with Jackson she never thought she’d meet someone like Takeshi and let alone be with him and have him do something this wonderful. She couldn’t help but turn to him and bury her face into his chest and let herself cry.

          “It’s amazing. It’s so amazing Takeshi of course I like it.” Her voice was muffled from his shirt. She pulled away even as tears fell down her face, “I love you so much.” Amelia hadn’t actually said that she loved him before, but now it was out in the open, “When did you get the time to do all this?” Her tears weren’t spilling anymore but she was still a bit misty-eyed.

「 ☼ 」 Aris had always been one to encourage others in their artistic pursuits; after all, few things in life gave him more joy than seeing what people could create. In his opinion, it made everything far more interesting and beautiful, so when he passed by someone in public and noticed them looking over a piece of art ( whether it was one they’d made or just enjoyed ), he couldn’t help but stop and admire it as well. “Yeah, definitely! The lighting and the setting work together perfectly. When I look at it, it’s like I’m feeling everything you felt while taking it.” He could go on, but he generally opted to save more in-depth conversation with those who expressed interest. “It’s worthy of being a favourite, in my humble opinion.”

       “Of course it was too high for me you giant.” She shook her head but was a bit relieved when he agreed to come over, “Okay well please hurry because I can’t start dinner without it. I guess I’ll make some for you too since you’re coming over. Pick up an extra chicken breast on your way here so I’ll have enough for you too. If you want to bring me some vanilla and honey flavored almonds too you’d be the best boyfriend on the planet.”

       “I don’t know. I just didn’t know if you were feeling better about it yet or not.” She kept lightly playing with his hair while they talked about this. The movie became just background noise to the conversation, “They’ll like you just fine. Daniel is really quiet but Mac softens him up a lot. Plus I’ll be there the whole time so if you don’t know what to say just divert the conversation to me.” She shifted slightly so she was a bit more comfortable since her legs were falling asleep, “Or we could cancel for this week and set it up for a later date. Up to you.”
