Entry 75
I started this study a long, long time ago (in like, 2021) and finally got back to working on it again recently... such a good entry. The lighting is so fun in this shot.

Survival: Day 3 (Final Part Of Entry 75)
(OOC: Date [26-10-2016] Day[Wednesday])
For today, the day started out with everyone being gathered up. A mission to disrupt had landed on the warband. We were reequipped with our gear for the task. It was nice to get out of those rags and back into a proper set of armour. The pathfinders departed early whilst me and Graularr were left behind to dispose of the camp. It was simple enough, before I could open my mouth to make a suggestion, Graularr has started literally walking through the huts kicking them down as he went. He left Miss Sunshards hut to me, deciding it was not worth his time. We piled up the rubble before we were called over to the others. We arrived to find Ara’ni and Nivendi’en overseeing what appeared to be sabotage with explosives. Lord Firestar caused a distraction to lead some of the goblins away from the others planting explosives.
We fought with those there and eliminated them as they were no big issue before the others returned. The explosives were planted and that was left to be done was to press the switch. For some reason everyone had to be touching the switch when it was pressed. I held my hand over it to not look rude but didn’t grab it so I could move my hands to my ears whilst it was being pressed. It was a big explosion. Even with my hands my ears still rung slightly from the force of the sound. After that we wasted no time and departed to Orgrimmar.
The choice was to return when you are ready so long as it is not too late. I decided to depart immediately seeing no reason to linger. Everyone made it back and nobody had expressed their need for healing so I left to return to where I needed to be. The walk back was helpful as it gave me a chance to change from a humid heat to the dry heat of Orgrimmar. Then slowing transition from the dry heat through Azshara into the blistering cold of Winterspring. The trip helped but I still could not help but shiver slightly at the cold. The camp its self was as empty as I expected it to be. Aside from the occasional guard or peon, the normal level of activity was lesser with the absence of the warband.
As it was still quiet I made my way to the hot springs at the back of the camp. Three days in the jungle are never good for one’s personal hygiene. I could tell this from the feel of my skin and the unpleasant movements caused by the layer of filth I gained from the jungle. I cleaned my body and my equipment before I lay back and took the chance to just enjoy this brief moment silence in the pleasant warmth of the spring. The weightlessness of the water numbing the aches and pains of the past week. I closed my eyes and relaxed, just wanting to drift to sleep. But I wasn’t in a decent state to be walked in on, or a safe place to just fall asleep. Instead I checked my health to make sure I had not caught anything in the jungles of Stranglethorn. Aside from some small healing cuts, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. I dried off and went to eat. One I ate my fill I decided to rest early. No doubt in the morning more training will begin. The few extra hours of rest are welcome.
Yours faithfully
Irelia Sunglance
Survival: Day 2 (Part 2 Of Entry 75)
(OOC: Date [25-10-2016] Day[Tuesday])
(Entry 75 should be written on Wednesday assuming nothing changes. Breaking down and posting each day so I don’t have a headache of a job on wednesday.)
The second day:
Hm… Running. That would be the easiest way to summarize that day. But first of all, it started with me gathering supplies for the group. I gathered some food and crafted some spears for people to use. I then left camp to look for a few things before returning to find Lord Firestar and Ara’ni in the camp. We didn’t stay long however as a pack of worges were set upon us.
From that point until the Worges were drove away there isn’t much to say. We just ran hitting them where we could. We did however run into a group of Gurubashi trolls. With the beasts chasing us we simply had to charge through them. I lead the charge emitting a flash of light to disorientate them whilst those behind me could get past. My spear wasn’t doing me too well either so I stuck one on the way past to make it more difficult to follow. Unfortunately I got hit in the shoulder with an arrow. One of those times you miss all the heavy armour.
We made it to a bridge to which I suggested we cross it and hold them off from the other side with the advantage of having solid ground to stand on as appose to their wavy bridge. We held them off long enough until Izeeja snuck around and forced Elder Sarues to call them off. With that we set up camp. I prepared the worge we killed to be eaten. Eventually we had huts and a fire going to cook the food. From there it was just conversation.
Eventually the –shadow- showed up. Still not fully trusting them I got on with what I was doing and left them to interact with the other more trusting members of the warband. As it turns out, the stalker was Ara’ni. This makes sense for all the things they knew. She blew her own cover when she impulsively responded to a comment which involved her. She complained about my hostilities towards her alias the other day. I simply explained I can be blunt and make myself clear to those who I don’t necessarily trust.
Sleep isn’t easy to find in this jungle. This combined with the tiredness I have been having recently meant that sitting by the fire was more a challenge to stay awake than do anything else. Eventually I had to retire as my tiredness because unreasonable. Trying to stay awake meant I had faults in other things like cooking, burning the meat over the fire. There was a storm coming so I needed as much rest as I could get. I fell asleep the second my head hit the ground and I don’t remember being awoken until morning. That or I wasn’t awake long enough to register anything if I did wake up before I needed to.
Survival: Day 1 (Part 1 Of Entry 75)
(OOC: Date [24-10-2016] Day[Monday])
(Entry 75 should be written on Wednesday assuming nothing changes. Breaking down and posting each day so I don’t have a headache of a job on wednesday.)
Dear diary…
The first day:
The day started off as normal. Rakeshi was out training and Graularr came over. I can only imagine they spoke because I had to leave shortly. When I returned, I and the other members of the warband aside from Ara’ni and Sarues were ordered into basic clothes and had to leave our things behind. The clothes were not great, nor was the dagger also supplied. Given the way I looked I didn’t use my orders tabard. Wearing it in the clothes I had would have set a poor image. I found my old Warband tabard and used that instead.
We waited around in the room after being informed of survival training. The next part is where it gets a little blurry. I remember Sarues and Ara’ni placing masks over their heads and the room filling with gas. Everyone fell down asleep around me and I figured this was some addition to the training. When I awoke, I was blindfolded and tied. We were on what sounded to be an airship under attack. It went down into the sea where I had to free myself from my bindings. Graularr had carried me to shore as I was still binded at the time he picked me up.
Our objective as we were told before we were gassed was to find a cave near the troll city Zul’grub. We had landed in the Stranglethorn jungle. We spent most of the day traveling, looking for things that could be of use. Eventually we found a place to set up camp near a source of water on elevated ground. Huts were set up and food was acquired.
During our meal there was a disturbance. Something was watching us and moved in and out of the camp, taking different actions as they went. It eventually revealed itself to be a female troll calling themselves the –Shadow-. By the time they showed themselves they had inflicted injury on Trez’iman and did.. something to Miss Sunshard. I could not see what. The troll then started telling stories of how it was a panther and started making comments of certain people. They seemed to think I was a faith wielder. I kept my guard up watching the troll in case they made a hostile action. However instead they just talked.
Eventually the stranger told us to kill a raptor and gather berries for a ritual. The simple answer was no. I thought this would have been obvious.
We are stranded in a forest with dwindling supplies and energy.
We have a mission to complete.
I have no reason to trust this troll. They stalked our camp and took terrorizing actions against our members.
However when I turned around, everybody had left doing what the troll asked. I considered following but given the difficulty of what they went to do, I watched the camp and rested instead. I fail to understand why the warband took orders from this troll. We gained nothing and only lost energy and risked being wounded.
They returned successful as I expected. Thankfully nobody was hurt. The troll thought to lecture me on my actions. I made it clear they do not have power over me and I do not answer to their loa. They did their ritual and then tried asking me and Miss Sunshard to hand over our daggers. Regrettably Aelathdrin did so without question. I demanded a reason. If that reason satisfied me then I would do as they asked. They failed to give a reason so my weapon stayed with me.
Aelathdrin left to clean off and I was asked to watch over her by Graularr. I gave her the space she needed but was grabbed by a large reptile from the river. I freed myself and drove it away but had been bitten. I tended to my wounds in one of the huts. I was later accused of disrespecting tradition by not assisting in this ritual. I stated that resting and being ready were my priority, not traditions.
Miss Sunshard took a walk having being frustrated with Graularr. They both got into an irritating argument over something. I was tired and not really listening but it had something to do with her walking around during the trolls ritual. They both traded insults enough to where I lost my patience and respectfully asked them to go somewhere else. Graularr then proceeded to kick the hut I was sitting in down. I rebuilt that and went to speak to Miss Sunshard. I gave her advice saying that arguing with them sometimes gets pointless. I said sometimes it’s just best to just let it go. There is no point dropping to the level of petty arguments that serve no purpose.
That then concluded that day as I went to rest.
