no more buying fast fashion!!!! 2026 is the year of mending the clothes you love and finding use for things past their prime. old clothes make great cleaning rags or you can patch them up to make them unique to you while also lasting a few more years :) cut up old sheets into squares and use them for everything from rags to a reusable tissue you can shove in your pocket.
thrift more. reuse more. stop relying on scam recycling systems that dont work and find inspiration at home. even if recycling did work as it was promised to us (it doesnt), the best thing we can do is limit the amount of things we send to recycling or garbage!! get creative!! get inspired!!! slow the chain that sends more and more useless bullshit into the ocean!!
Kolmanskop
As Nico writes:
"Once one of the richest communities in Africa, the buildings of Kolmanskop have now been reclaimed by the Namib Desert… By 1956, Kolmanskop was completely abandoned. The dunes that once rolled over the railway tracks now burst through the ghost town’s doors and porches, filling its rooms with smooth banks of sand."
