Lowpolyish scene made in Blender for fun and practice! I want to try and create more small scenes where the environment tells the story.
I retextured an old kitchen model of mine. Click here to check it out!
I revamped an kitchen I made back in college. Here’s a peak into how it looks
Check out the rest of the updated version, as well as a before and after comparison pic, over on my patreon.
here are a bunch of screenshots with temp colors from my unreal level environment I did roughly based off of daigoji temple! this entire project was a rough learning experience, but made me so much faster at modeling and UVing which I am super thankful for! working on texturing all the assets so we can see this bad boy in color my dudes
A one-day project based on a photo I saw online. Made in Maya and rendered with Arnold.
Update on my Overwatch project. For the first time ever I tried to do a hand painted texture, the result is the rocks you can see. I learned a lot and I might try to do more of this - it certainly is a very new and interesting workflow! The pots are also new, with a texture from Substance Designer
Working on my environment modeling class at Animschool, and I'm using this as my concept
We started by just blocking in with cubes and cylinders and stuff, and in the last week I've been doing more detailed modeling on those big shapes. This was my progress as of last night
But really, the main reason for this post is to highlight some of the more time consuming pieces in here.
First: the chair of doom
That middle cushion took a bit of finagling, but ultimately I went with the Quad Draw tool over the top of a basic cushion shape so that I could get those diamond shapes. Then the roller legs didn't require as much inventiveness, but they definitely took time.
And then today (so it's not in the progress shot above) I made this backpack
with probably way more detail than strictly necessary. But I'm pretty pleased with those straps and buckles. Also the main body splits into 3 different zippered pockets, in addition to the two side pockets.
The backpack was easier and less time consuming than the chair, but it's a pretty close second. All in all I'm pretty pleased with my progress so far though! I'm only a couple weeks in and this class has been really great!
