I am in the process of switching majors right now I think. I am currently a physics major and as much as I love physics it is to much for me. Instead I hope to change to environmental sciences. A couple years ago this would have actually been my first choice but I got so scared to go for it with the ranger layoffs and constant denial of climate change. There was also a fear mongering of sorts that I did fall for (people were saying that the major is horrible for your mental health to detrimental amounts) and job security. But I may have a more privileged take but I think I rather be in debt because I pursued my longest passion then continue on this taxing degree that I do love and will pay off but will cause such levels of stress, anxiety and feelings of inadequacy. I hope that my transfer of majors is successful and that but the fall semester I will finally feel like I made the right choice.
