Hot take: cardboard/paper straws are bad.
Better for the environment, sure, but that's only if you don't have to go through 10 of them for one drink. I've seen plenty of biodegradable ones that are more plastic-y which are great.
I think the BEST place to save on plastics is the cups and lids though. Paper cups are already a thing, and if you made paper lids you could also add the little coffee opening so you don't NEED a straw. I'd like strawless lids with optional GOOD QUALITY straw to be the default.
