Managing the sound a tire makes and transmits to the cabin of a car is a key part of tire engineering. A tire that was too loud will quickly get a market reputation for it. On the other hand a quiet tire is nearly always considered to be advantageous. In the tire industry there are two main ways that the sound tires make are reduced. Changes to the tread pattern, this generally involves creating bigger grooves in the tread. The other change is placing a groove into the sidewall of a tire. 

These two changes are put it for the same reason, a tire develops what is called pipe resonance. Reducing this pipe resonance will reduce the sound created by the tire.

What do you think is better for the environment?

This is not a brain teaser, just a poll out of curiosity. I will not argue any answer as I think all answers hold some validity. Just a friendly question. <3

You are told to give up eating one of the following things. Which choice do you think would be more beneficial to the health of the environment (keeping other morals separate, ie. sympathy for an animal's life):

a) Anything that comes from the ocean, rivers or lakes (including aquatic vegetation)

b) Soy and soy products

c) Meat (fish not included)

e) Tropical Oils
