Legend of Link Fic Fight prompt: People from all five kingdoms must work together to help Link.
For @liketolaugh-writes
Kushara sucked on the last threads of tobac-kelp as she lounged against the headboard. “What’s it say?” she asked lazily.
Dradd didn’t respond immediately, still reading over the water-safe letter that his page had awkwardly delivered through the door.
“What’s so important that it couldn’t wait until tomorrow?”
“It’s from the Hyrulean princess.”
”What does the Hyrulean princess want with you?”
“With us,” he said. “She’s reaching out to every kingdom she can reach for help.”
Kushara rolled her eyes. “What does she need help with?” she prodded.
”Um…” he read a bit more. “‘The hero Link…faces of evil…’ no, forces, sorry. Um… Have you ever heard of Ganon?”
She shifted into a more comfortable position on the pillows. “Not familiar.”
”Well, apparently he’s kidnapped Link.”
”Do we know who that is?”
Dradd stroked his whiskers. “Wasn’t he that kid trying to handle the rifts?”
”I thought Zelda did that.”
”Maybe she knows him.”
Kushara waved him on. “What exactly does the princess want?”
He returned his attention to the letter. “She…is calling a meeting of the kingdoms. She has a plan, but she wants to tell us in person.”
”I suppose we can humor her,” Kushara said. She groaned as she stretched her spine and let herself sink further into the wrinkled sheets. “That’s an issue for the morning, though.” When Dradd didn’t respond, she opened an eye to watch him. “Dradd?”
“Your Hyrulean is better than mine,” he said. “Can you make sure I’m reading this right?”
”Ugh.” She pushed herself back into a seated position. “Give it here.”
He handed it over, and she immediately began skimming. It wasn’t until she got to the signature that she realized what was going on.
”How long has Zelda been a princess?!”
