Last thing I googled: map of Middle Earth 

Dream trip: anywhere with a tropical white sand beach and great snorkeling.  My favorite snorkeling spot is Kealakekua Bay on the island of Hawaii.  My favorite white sand beach is Ala Moana on the island of Oahu.  If only I could teleport back and forth between the two, while teleport-commuting to either from someplace I can afford to live.

So, what do you find attractive in a *fictional* person? (this is clearly the useful question to ask)

Usually that they are doomed by the narrative

I would like to know more about Adar in Valinor.

I would say that I'm shocked, but I would be lying. [Ask game here]

This is an AU that features Adar and Palariel meeting under completely different circumstances. The brief idea is that Adar is captured and Gil-galad doesn't want to deal with this - so he ships Adar directly to Aman to make it the Valar's problem.

I can't decide if Palariel's been in Middle-earth and is asked to go with him as his healer - or if she's already sailed and is assigned to him when he gets there.

He's kind of a high-profile person, being not-an-elf and having been directly sentenced by the Valar. The eyes of the elves are very much on his treatment in the gardens at Lorien.

Palariel's family comes into play a bit more here. Her family is a cadet branch of the Vanyarin royals - so there's mixed public sentiment about a high lady being assigned to someone as rough as that.

It's strangers to lovers and hopefully a genuinely slow burn in the way that Scars couldn't be due to outside plot pressure.

Special guest appearance by Pengolodh, in @hellofeanor's characterization. He's meant to be a minor charaacter, but I might end up enjoying him too much and let that expand.

Eventually, Palariel and Adar get too close for her to be his healer anymore - but she won't let that stop her from visiting.

The political climate around them even being friends is messy - let alone anything more than that - and they have some outside strife to overcome but this one's got probably the happiest ending of any fic I've thought of.
