I think, further displays what I was talking about in my last post.
Being an alien is just second nature to him now. He willingly jumps off the edge of a building because he's used to being able to fly or do things regular humans can't. Getting hurt by doing this isn't always a certainty. And, as shown by the fact that he does this, everything he does as an alien counts towards his functioning as a human because he still has the same consciousness. Everything he experiences as an alien, or learns to do, or adapts to as an alien, also translates to the way he works as a human.
Even if it's the choice to jump from a tower.
