I high-fived a stingray today!
More like ten stingrays, actually. They were so friendly, and the stings had been removed. My group and I trailed our fingers in the water and the stingrays swam up and slapped us with their wings. It was great.

Just walking around the zoo with a best selling author and the vp of Poynter and discussing chimp politics As one does as an Ernie Pyle scholar, apparently.
Everything I did today made me feel smarter. Everyone here is so clever and we talk about important things and I occasionally made good contributions to the conversation and felt good about myself. I wish this kind of day happened more often.
(Except for, once again, overeating... don't know how I'm not in a hyperglycemic coma right now. But other than that.)
I have "I love everyone in this bar!" moments a lot when I'm with the EPS people.
Even though I miss my family, I'm so glad I got to go to Florida with these awesome journalism nerds.
