media release: Taemin's First Solo Concert in Malaysia: A Night of Dance, Laughter, and Heartfelt Moments
K-Pop Prince Taemin took the stage by storm last night as his "Ephemeral Gaze" world tour made its highly anticipated stop in Malaysia. Held at the Malawati Indoor Stadium in Shah Alam, Selangor, the electrifying event saw fans who waited for Taemin so long to gather for an unforgettable evening of music and dance. Also, renowned for his flawless choreography and the title of "Dance Machine," Taemin delivered a high-energy performance that left the audience mesmerized.
Taemin, who debuted in 2008 as a member of SHINee, fondly recalled his previous visits to Malaysia. In 2013, he performed with SHINee at the Golden Disk Awards, and in 2015, they headlined the Formula One Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix. Last night, as he returned to Malaysia after an 9-year absence, Taemin expressed how touched he was by the continued love and passion of his Malaysian fans. Showing his appreciation, he delighted the crowd by shouting in Malay, "Saya rindu awak semua" ("I miss you all”).
After performing his opening set of three songs, Taemin took a moment to share just how meaningful this concert was to him. As his first solo world tour under Big Planet Made Entertainment, he described it as a special gift to his beloved TAEMates worldwide. He emphasized how hard he had worked to perfect his performances, determined to present his best self on this new journey.
True to the theme of the "Ephemeral Gaze" tour, Taemin meticulously crafted the storyline of the concert. "Every song order tonight has meaning," he explained. "No matter when or through which song you came to know me, the Taemin you see now is still the same Taemin.”
The concert was not only a showcase of musical excellence but also a visual feast. From the emotional rain-soaked ballads to time-bending futuristic backdrops, every stage element added to the theatrical atmosphere, pulling the audience deeper into the world Taemin created.
While his powerful music carried the audience on an emotional ride, Taemin also sprinkled in plenty of fan interaction during breaks. In one light-hearted moment, a fan called him "cute," to which Taemin playfully responded, "Do you even know how old I am? I can’t be called cute anymore!" The witty remark sent the entire stadium into laughter.
Just before the encore, the screen suddenly displayed the lyrics to "Pansy," a song Taemin wrote to express his deep gratitude to his fans. The unexpected sing-along turned into a beautiful collective moment, with fans serenading Taemin in unison.
As chants of "Taemin!" filled the air, he returned to the stage for two more performances, delivering powerful renditions of his new tracks, "Crush" and "Say Less." Before leaving, Taemin took a group photo with all his fans—a cherished memento of the night.
Right after Taemin and TAEMate took a group photo, the big screen lit up with a surprise video from SHINee World, Taemin's dedicated fanbase. Taemin was surprised by this moving video and expressed his gratitude.
After the concert, as rain began to pour outside, Taemin once again showed his care for his fans by posting a thoughtful message on social media, reminding them to be cautious on their way home—a gesture that warmed the hearts of many.
