Drake caught a fleeting glimpse of a thought flitting through Kilgharrah's mind almost too quickly to be seen. "No!" he yelled, horrified, as loudly and emphatically as he could (both mentally and physically), as he stood in the middle of a busy corridor frightening the locals.
But Drake didn't have time to worry about that. "I saw that, don't you think I didn't see that!" he hollered, and took off urgently for the nearest transporter.
It's a nickname, if you try to make it literal I will find a way to tether you to Boss Viathan for eternity, see if I don't! Drake threatened, sprinting out of the transporter and across the east pier.
But... dragons, Kilgharrah replied (much too enthused for Drake's peace of mind).
Can't fly through space, Drake argued, slamming through Kilgharrah's airlock. D'you want to be tethered to one planet for the rest of our lives?
Now that Drake was inside Kilgharrah, he couldn't really remember why he'd been in such a rush to get here.
It wasn't like his physical presence would have any impact on their mental argument. He crossed his arms over his chest and glared sternly at the closest wall anyway.
Stargates, Kilgharrah argued smugly.
Wraith don't always land on 'gate planets, Drake retorted, and then grabbed and clung to the next almost-too-quick thought Kilgharrah tried to hide. Really? Drake asked disbelievingly. So you'll fit through the 'gate to Earth and can see dragons in person? You know you'll have a working cloak and hyperdrive again soon. You wouldn't be able to fit in the underground complex the Earth 'gate leads to, anyway! And the only way you'd be able to carry me is if I rode on the outside of you, Drake was very determinedly not amused. How about a mural or something, pattern your hull to look like scales instead? We could match; you've seen my tattoo, Drake suggested.
Ruin all fun, Kilgharrah complained. Drake relaxed; he could feel Kilgharrah's resigned agreement. Home-improvement makeover crisis averted—well, this one, at least.
