Blue-and-yellow grouper

Epinephelus flavocaeruleus (Perciformes - Serranidae), the Blue-and-yellow grouper, is a reef-associated fish up to 90 cm long, distinctive by its coloration.

Adults have yellow fins. Small juveniles about half blue, half yellow; distinguished by having sky blue color of head and body in juveniles to dark bluish violet or dark greyish blue in adults; and yellow upper lip.

Epinephelus flavocaeruleus is found only in the Indian Ocean and the islands of the western Indian Ocean, including Cargados Carajos and Rodríguez.
