Next is a character that was quite the celebrity to grace Murdoch Mystery — but like Brackenried, she might be followed by a groan — Carrie A. Nation, a leader of the American Temperance league.
Carrie A. Nation (sometimes spelled Carry) was born on November 25th, 1846 in Garrard county Kentucky, United States. She married her first husband was an alcoholic and she divorced him after a few months. Her next husband lasted a little bit longer. They married in 1877 and he divorced her in 1901.
Carrie Nation’s career in the temperance movement started in 1890. Because of a Supreme Court ruling, Kansas was a temperance state, but still had many illegal saloons. She took it upon herself to destroy the bars and saloons selling alcohol. Like in the episode “The Local Option”, Nation would take an axe and destroy bar property, usually while giving speeches about the immorality of drink. She was jailed many times.
Passing away in 1911, she did not see the national prohibition in 1919.

Freaking god!! Castiel!!! I can't even handle 9x06!!! Castiel is in so much pain and... Blegh!!! Crying!!! Btw... Cas' singing voice... Best thing ever. Now... How about we get some Destiel action and have Dean and Cas jamming and singing to Stairway to Heaven! Like... Come on!!!! That should be a thing. Right at the end of the season... Before Cas is about to go back to heaven with all his angel buddies. I want a freaking happy ending to a season. T-T
