Just this one thing in this game called Episodes

So I remember, years ago, playing the app game Episodes when it first came out. It was a game where you can write your own narratives with choices and post it to the public.

So I’m playing the top recommended story for my first try. It’s this weird story about a girl getting a scholarship from an unknown source for this college her mum went to under the condition she joins a sorority.

There are three sororities. I don’t remember the names but it’s basically the geeks, the angsty hips and the posh girls. The narrative kept pushing me to the posh girls even though I was gunning for the geeks. It got to the point where I was actually forced into the posh group and one of the girls that didn’t like me tried to blackmail with something that would get me kicked out of the posh group.

Well, I was obviously all for that. I didn’t want to be in this posh group in the first place, I don’t like this girl and I don’t like being blackmailed. I don’t care that the posh girls have some weird intrigue plot and my mum used to be a member. I’m my own character. Be my guest. That was actually a choice. You get a choice after bitchy’s spiel to either go along with her blackmail or say “fuck it, do what you want”. You can guess which I choose.

Bitchy chick was like “well... alright then” and went to tell the head chick, AND THEN my character, right after giving a semi-decent speech telling her to go fuck herself and I do what I want for you can’t boss me around, does a 180 and goes “no wait. Don’t actually”.

At that point, I got fed up, dropped a review for the writer telling them to make their choices ACTUALLY MATTER and left the game.

And that’s my experience with Episode. Thanks for coming to my pointless rant.

Does anybody else play Episodes cos not even two seconds after my game boyfriend and I decided to move in together and got our freak on he was hit by a god damn car! The next “book” don’t come out til god knows when and I am not okay!
