Zone Lowe: Everybody wants to know, is there something coming with you and Abel [The Weekend]?
Lady Gaga: I mean, I love Abel. That's all I am gonna say. I am a huge fan of Abel.
What part of you is starting to rot because you keep ignoring it?
One card pull & a song recommendation.
🩵 KING OF CUPS 🩵
With the King of Cups, this isn’t about something chaotic falling apart. It’s about something beautiful, steady, and emotionally wise in you that’s being neglected. The part that knows how to feel without drowning, the part that can hold space, stay calm, and respond instead of react….that part of you is being put on the back burner.
What’s “starting to rot” here is your emotional maturity being unused. When you don’t use it, it doesn’t just sit pretty….it starts to turn into suppression, emotional distance, or even quiet resentment.
For some folks, this looks like knowing how you should communicate, but choosing silence instead. Swallowing your feelings, keeping the peace, and/or being the “bigger person” so often that your own emotions don’t get a seat at the table anymore. You’re capable of depth, honesty, and emotional leadership…but you’re not actually expressing it.
For others, flip it just a little and this can be you over-giving emotionally, being the stable one for everybody else, the one people lean on….while nobody’s really checking in on you. You’ve got all this emotional wisdom, all this care, but it’s being poured outward with no return. Over time, that starts to sour into burnout or feeling unappreciated.
There’s also a piece here about emotional truth. The King of Cups doesn’t avoid feelings at all, he understands them. So if you’ve been ignoring something you know you feel, brushing it off, intellectualizing it, or pretending you’re “fine”… that’s the rot. Not the emotion itself, but the refusal to honor it.
Your higher emotional self is basically saying, “I taught you how to handle this better than this.” Not in a judgmental way….but in that disappointed, gentle kind of knowing.
The fix isn’t dramatic, it’s just really honest. Just say the thing. Feel the thing. Set the boundary. Have the conversation. Admit what’s been sitting under the surface because right now, that calm, emotionally intelligent version of you isn’t gone…it’s just being ignored, and anything ignored long enough will start to feel heavy, stale, and eventually hard to access.
This isn’t about becoming more emotional, baby, it’s about becoming more real with the emotions you already have.
