EPNP SPACE UPDATE

Alrighty, judging from the likes and comments from the other post regarding this, the project will be shifted from steam to lazors in space.

From this change, the project will now be called:

Tumblr Space Empires Project, or TSEP, for future reference.

I will make the minor tweeks to the ones I am currently working on, and when i have time, I will post them, along with the universe background.

Personal Nation Project Question

So for those who would be interesting in having a nation made, I have a bit of a dilemma.

With the Whole Homeworld craze I have at the moment, part of me wants to make this project go more sci fi then steampunkish. The system to make these a nations would work either way, maybe more in sci fi now that I think about it.

Thus my questions to you guys:

Should I make your nations Space Empires? Or Steampunk?

And if the answer is Space, Should I do all human empires or should create Aliens as well?

ED's Personal Nations Project!

ALRIGHTY LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

I said on my old blog's follow forever that I had a project I wanted to do on this new blog. Well, here it is! ED's Personal Nations!

Edouard, What are these personal nations? Good question, glad you asked. Essentially, What I wanted to do was to take people's personality types from multiple sources, add a bit of their own flavor and preferences, a bit of creativity, and voila! A Civilization as if straight from a History Book!

Why am I doing this? Well I always thought it would be cool if I took someone;s personality and expand it to the level of a nation. Like, fights would be considered Wars, friends would be engaged in trade and open borders, have cold wars and espionage against enemies, etc. Just really expand our own lives into something grandiose, just for the hell of it,

What is going to come out of it? When I am done creating your nation, I will take that information we worked on and store it in a special page specifically for this project. Afterwards, Based on interactions between people here on tumblr, I (or anyone else) can make stories or roleplay or make flags or uniforms or symbols or what have you. Its our own little universe expanded for everyone to enjoy.

If you are shy and do not want your nation attributed to you publicly, I will accept that and not attribute you name to the nation, and it will just be there as a token of imagination, and no one will know.

NOW! How does it work! Well, basically, I take three different forms of personality typology, the MBTI, the Enneagram, and the Zodiac (I know its not the most scientifics but don't worry I use it in a way that is appropriate), each representing a different aspect of the nation itself. Then, as we work together to fine your particularities, interests, and other information, then I start writing up a civilization as it would look like in the Ancient/Classical age.

HOWEVER! I then evolve that nation, taking in technological change, social upheaval, and other such aspects, taking into consideration other nations influence, and bringing them up to the industrial level of technology. This means that if your nation resembles and Aztec empire or a Zulu tribe, THAT IT WILL BECOME THE ROUGH EQUIVALENT OF A EUROPEAN POWER IN TECHNOLOGY AND POWER. This was done as a method of preventing any nation being subject as a colony and to prevent the project from descending to eurocentrism. In my line of thinking, colonialism is essentially the equivalent of an abusive or dominating relationship, Which I cannot allow to be represented if that doesn't represent the state of affairs between people,and ESPECIALLY if that is really the case some people find themselves in. So, in short, any culture imaginable can be represented as an equal in this project.

Two additional notes. Culture aesthetic will be somewhat limited by your personality, if your personality mimics more the roving nomads of the steppes, we are not going to have it resemble a highly urban hellenistic state, though I would be open to mix some forms of the aesthetic together. Secondly, I will be going to each one of you ONE AT A TIME. I will work in detail with a single person until the profile is done. Then it will be uploaded and I will work on another.

Also, I have a quick question for you guys, I guess I can consider it a poll: How industrial should I let these nations be? Should I stick with realistic Victorian to pre-world war 2 technology? Should It be more steampunky, but still limited? Or should I go over the top Dystopian War levels of leviathans and technology? What are your thoughts?
