I had a dream last night where Emerald became the Summer Maiden. Cinder and Emerald had been fighting and Emerald was down, and Cinder was ranting about the power not going to her, and out of focus in the foreground, you see Emerald sit up. Cinder looks over, then there's a slow zoom shot of Emerald's back with the maiden theme soft in the background, before she looks over her shoulder with the eye flames lighting up, and then I woke up. Rooster teeth hire me.

Well the dialogue was fucked and the characterization was completely out of every possible window, HOWEVER the animation was crazy good, the music was great, and I loved how they intergrated the mechanics like the sylladex and pesterlogs and such, and for how bad the dialogue was, I loved the voice acting! I'm not gonna pretend it was perfect, but also I'm genuinely not that fussed? Would hope they fix a lot of the characterization if it gets greenlit, but as just a short pilot that has to do a looooooot of expostion, I didn't hate it! Hopefully they make the beta kids act like friends in the actual series, but for now it's cool that this got made :3
