#OnThisDay in 1963, the Equal Pay Act was enacted.

It prohibited "discrimination on account of sex in the payment of wages by employers engaged in commerce..."

And yet we are still having problems with the #GenderPayGap in 2016.

Should we enforce stronger provisions in following this law?

This is straight up bullshit. The Equal Pay Act was signed into law by Former President John F Kennedy. This law makes it illegal to pay women less than men for the same work. Women do on the other hand choose careers that tend to pay less than the careers that men choose. Women are not barred from these jobs. The wage gap is a myth.
