Sketch commission for @amayensis of their species, the equinoth! This was some good scale practice, I admit it’s been a minute since I’ve really worked with scales.

And I’m always a sucker for equine based beasties, bonus points for extra claws!

@amayensis posted some PNGs of her lovely Equinoths, on Patreon, for use. I haven’t had much art motivation recently so I jumped at the chance to get some color palate testing done after finding some nice forest colors! This was a great way to spend a rainy day stuck inside~

Her name is Cypress~ She enjoys sassing her dad and pestering him breaking into his house to get food.

I remember visiting a ranch to look for a future mount for my work -- and I had always dreamt of owning an Equinoth -- so when I saw this clumsy Ebony goofball gambolling in the field in front of me, I did not hesitate a single second."    

"Then of course, when the rancher told me the price of the foal, it was a bit like a cold shower... But as you can see today, it wasn't enough to stop me."

Honestly, seeing a cute baby animal and being immediately giddy at the sight of them is a very relatable feeling, and I definitely can't fault Vernon for his decision in choosing the little guy instead of an older one. He was such a cute foal! I wanna give him little scratches on his little head! <3

“It's a silly story, but... In association with two Guild knights, I went to investigate a seemingly empty house in the suburbs of Dundorma, that we suspected was used by poachers. We had tied our mounts outside, did our research, then came back out with a few clues.

To this day I still don't know how Zenith managed to free himself, or if someone else untied him... All I know is that I've gotten extra careful about tying him ever since. Of course the Guild Knights haven’t forgotten about this event. Especially Nadia, who likes teasing me about it when she gets the opportunity."
