Unconsciously taking note of the rumbling noise of steel meeting steel of the train passing by, ray grumbles in his sleep, turning over onto his other side. The familiar noise just about to lull him back to sleep, until his nightmares decide to keep him from it.
Slowly becoming more conscious by the minute, the sudden prattling and clicking of the lock of his apartment door unlocking and softly closing startles him fully awake. Hearing slight shuffling of feet, and soft rustling through drawers and papers has ray feeling for his gun on the nightstand on his left.
He had no idea of the intruder’s intentions, they could be all kinds of folk, desperate for help and knowing of his military background, out for revenge or information based on him taking care of one of their buddies as bounty hunter or gun-for-hire, a totally random break-in, or someone he knew not bothering to let him know of their unexpected and sudden arrival. Either way he was about to find out.
Crawling from the bed, taking care not to make a sound, ray shuffled to his bedroom wall, tracing it on his way to the source. Sneaking up to them, he aimed the gun, cocking the hammer, ‘’You have about 60 seconds to tell me what the hell you’re doing in my apartment.’’
