Escape
Equius threw himself against the blackness again, flying straight through and into more nothingness.
He'd lost track of how long he'd been here. Ever since the mysterious force pulled him away from the Vantas Cafe, he'd been lost in this space, spinning through the infinite void with no reference points. The isolation had nearly driven him to madness, but just when it looked like he would be trapped for eternity, the bubbles started appearing.
From what he could tell, Equius was viewing every single possible iteration of himself across the whole of reality. Some human, some in forms he couldn't possibly begin to describe, and some strange, grey versions with horns. At first, he had been mystified by the phenomenon, but a realization quickly dawned on him: Somewhere out there was his universe.
So he started attacking the void. Punching it, kicking it, slamming his body against it, anything he could do to move himself through faster. As he did, the realities he saw looked closer and closer to the one he knew. Even though Equius was starting to fatigue, he couldn't give up now.
"D --> Must be... getting... close..."
And there it was. An alleyway he recognized from his walks to work. Exactly the same as it had been the day he went by it to reach the cafe. With all his STRENGTH, Equius flung himself towards the bubble, smashing straight through its confines.
***
In a universe he wasn't meant to be in, a tall, brutish man appeared out of nowhere and smashed straight into the opposite wall of the alley. His doppleganger didn't even notice him as he made his way to work.
(Welcome to the new RP, Equius. God have mercy on you.)
