i kind of hate how in most stageplays of equus the horses are just wire heads, so really they're faceless and empty men. it's not as compelling to read it as a story about repressed queerness (from both strang and the dr). like i'm glad it happened a few times but i think everyone gets it by now. it's been 50 years. it's time for them to start doing fursuit heads or giant papier mache horses. just give me SOMETHING.
