Lafrenze has only a few creative outlets–– that being singing and cooking and flower weaving. Singing soothing spells to the dead spirits within the forest was one of her tasks. However, she sang to her heart’s content when she was able to get some peace and quiet. She allowed for her emotions to burst forth, it eased her when troubled or needed something to fill the silence (or mocking from the dead).
Although she had few resources back home, Lafrenze learned how to make simple meals for herself courtesy of her late “grandmother”. Going out to search for the ingredients may have been a pain, however it gave her something to do. Cooking became a quiet past time when not calming the lingering spirits of the dead.
Flower weaving also was something she did. It intrigued her how many different colors complimented one another nicely. When her grandmother passed on, when not on duty as “gatekeeper” Lafrenze wove several flowers, making either crowns or accessories.
