MLQC CN: Important updates to Ling Xiao’s karmas

So, Papergames has finally tried to take in hand LX’s situation with regard to his karmas. 

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you may wish to read this post: Why do CN players “hate” Ling Xiao so much? 

Starting from the update for the CN server tomorrow, 24/03/21:

LX will have his own Heart Trials

LX’s karmas released after this date can no longer be used for other suitors. Karmas that can be used will be marked with a “Common” label. 

Merging one of LX’s ERs released before 24/03/21 with one released after 24/03/21 will give an SER that cannot be used across the other suitors’ Heart Trials (see my conversation with the customer service officer as below).  **This is especially important because that aren’t that many of LX’s ERs with good stats now, so players will need to weigh the benefits of merging an existing ER karma with a future one of similar affinity and stats against merging two existing ERs to give a Common SER which can be used across the board.

MLQC CN: Banquet of the Fallen Moon Chapters 4-5 ERs + Summary of Chapters 1-3

Upon closer reading of the post when I got home, I realised they won’t be free and that the event would share the format of the main story ERs. So much for my strategising...

N.B. The witch refers to MC. In the Banquet of the Fallen Moon story arc, she’s a witch.

Bai Qi

“The journey that lies ahead may be a thousand miles long, but I’ll be there with you all the way.”

Summary of Chapters 1-3: The witch was in danger because of the enchanted qin, but then she met the mage Bai Qi. Bai Qi helped the witch defeat the qin player, and warned the witch to be careful of the increasing number of demonised mages. The mage allowed the witch to keep the qin. When the witch expressed interest in joining the mages’ association and her hope that Bai Qi would be able to provide her with a referral, Bai Qi declined to comment further on the subject and reminded her to return home earlier. On the senior mage’s recommendation, the witch successfully joined the mages’ association. Upon meeting the senior mage by chance, the qin player appeared again. This time, he chose to kill himself after being defeated.

Xu Mo

“Out of the blue, you bumped into me—and then I knew what longing was.”

Summary of Chapters 1-3: The witch had been awakened by a spirit. When she had just awoken, she was in danger. The spirit who woke her taught her how to use her power to defeat the drunkards. Without telling her name, he left. The spirit took the qin in the Three Dreams Inn, but promised the witch he would return it to her. In exchange, the witch needed to give him that which was hidden in the qin. Only then did the witch finally learn his name—Xu Mo.

Li Zeyan

“Even if it is only for a split second, I still want to preserve this moon-lit moment in the human world.”

Summary of Chapters 1-3: The witch had discovered, unintentionally, that followers from the Dark Moon Sect were murdering others to get their hands on their crystals. When the witch was about to be discovered, the Demon King appeared and stopped time, allowing her time to escape. Later, the witch later encountered the Demon King again in the Demon Valley, and the Demon King advised her to leave. Trapped in the Demon Valley by a shield, the witch and the Demon King agreed to a contract. The witch told the Demon King that the relationship between humans and demons had to be maintained by both sides. However, the Demon King disagreed, saying that there was no relationship to speak of in the first place. He then warned the witch never to return to the Demon Valley.

Zhou Qiluo

“As long as the mountains and rivers remain unchanged, our promise will never fade.”

Summary of Chapters 1-3: Once upon a time, the witch came across a certain youth’s conversation with some people clad in black. In the process, she nearly endangered her safety. The witch thought she recognised the youth who rescued her, but he denied this without any hesitation on his part. Before she could say anything else, the youth left. Some time later, on the streets, the witch chanced upon a golden-haired youth who shared a similar appearance to the person whom she had bumped into that night in the alley. The golden-haired youth helped the witch get rid of the soldiers after her, and promised to meet the witch under some named tree. The witch thought she ought to recognise the youth, but alas, she failed to remember his name.

Umm ... hello! I'd like to ask about ER karmas in CN server. Is it still better than SSRs if it isn't merged? Thank you so much!

Hello! No, if they aren’t merged, ER karmas have about the same stats as SRs, i.e. weaker than SSRs.

Below (left to right): SR, ER, SSR, all green, Evolved but Unascended. The ER is comparable to the Birthday karma (SR).

**Side note: The ER cannot be Evolved, which is why the stars are yellow. It can, however, be Advanced, as I have done.

However, once they are merged, they are slightly better than SSRs, though SPs still have the best stats.

Below (left to right): SSR, SER, SP, all pink and Evolved. Not an entirely fair comparison because my SP is Ascended, but we’ll have to make do with the karmas I own.

Whether they are worth-it is another question for another day. I’m working on a guide that will be released just before the ER karmas land in the EN server. (Hopefully I’ll still be on Tumblr then, ahaha.)
