Loveariel is a Sydney based painter, installation artist and musician. After graduating fine arts in 2011, she spent three months as an artist in residency at Sick Boy Studio in London before studying under John Isaacs, a modern hyper realist sculptor in Berlin. She has since exhibited and toured through the USA with former band DampVamp.
This exhibition aims to reconnect artist Loveariel with the public and the outside world after an incubatory period of darkness and dreaming, inviting visitors into a hidden aspect of Sydney’s young and underground art world, to witness its maturation into the production of works noted for their studious relevance and worth.
Ariel currently works from her Shadowlodge in a beautiful old art deco warehouse in Sydney and fronts her current band FireSaint. Often playing with the themes of love, sex, self-worship and sacrifice, she is inspired by the strength of her muses and their superhuman qualities to transform and survive dark places.
Large scale oil paintings and installations depicting the hidden secrets and studies of lost pagan religion and storytelling, together with energetic characters manifested through the artist’s own meditation and guidance seeking, detail the dark and light elements of the creative spirit. The included structures provoke and encourage contemplation and worship of higher forces around the themes of magic, depression and psychadelia and have been curated in such a way to enable spiritual connection between viewer and subject, thereby facilitating energetic growth and release.
