answer with whatever oc has been rotting your brain the most or otherwise has the most interesting abswer; Midnight and Pain for the oc quesiton thang
Well, I have a few OCs always in my brain.
Midnight: I'm going to pull up Jackie. Jacqueline Sekelsky. Painter, Soldier, Criminal, Cultist, slave to her goddess, her past, her art.
She by far has the most things keeping her up at night, sweating from nightmares, being so efficiently good at killing but refusing to do so, afraid that if she does it might bring back her days as a sniper.
Xaviera tries to keep Jackie in the bed, soft, comfortable, warm, so unlike the trenches she's been in for most of her life, in the cold and the mud. She still slips out of the bed when she finds herself unable to sleep.
She goes to her art studio. Sits on her stool, in the cold. Walls and floor covered in white paper to not "ruin" the room. She prays at the canvas, worshipping her goddess the only way she knows how, painting out her old life, again, and again, a thousand different ways while the world melts around her until she can sleep again or day breaks.
Pain: Pulling out Erabeth! More people will know about her, my hunter of the night. She does have a high pain tolerance. Thank goodness for that too considering what she goes through constantly.
The worst pain she's ever been in is not the pain she feels as her bones and body shift into something that's not wholly her, as her teeth warp in her mouth and become uncomfortable within her. She knows pain, and her body turning against her as it undergoes a metamorphosis she fights against isn't her worst.
To her, the worst pain she's been in was when she was very young, long before Yharnam or any horrors she's had to face. Being a small runt of an 11 year old, chased through the streets, a foreigner in a new land, as she always is, never living anywhere long enough to call a place home. Yharnam hardly presented her with anything new in regards to a welcome, only that more people were kind. Iosefka, Gilbert, etc.
She'd run through the streets as fast as she could to avoid the groups of people that wanted nothing more than to grind her into the dirt they believed her to be. It would only would happen when she got caught, but being at a bottom on a pile, kicked half to death to crawl home bloody to a distant father, somehow the repeated boot strikes hurt far more than anything in Yharnam.
Perhaps she had been able to grow hard against the pain from when she was young and vulnerable. Maybe now it's just that she finally has the power to fight back in a new place that treats her much the same as anywhere else she's been. But now she's not vulnerable, she can hit back, she's not a child, this hurts no where near as bad as it did back then.
