That's what Astarion had called out while their party ransacked an abandoned cellar, ducked into a small alcove, emerging hastily. But Gale, after all the time they'd spent traversing the countryside outside of Baldur's Gate together, knew better.

As soon as the others began their ascent to the surface, he stole a moment for himself, wondering if sufficient clues would be left behind to deduce what Astarion may have pilfered.

At first, the space seemed bereft of anything at all--and then his eyes adjusted to the deeper dark.

10. Sci-Fi or fantasy? Why?

oh fantasy, 1000%. i actually don't do much sci-fi because i don't do space at all; i have a mortal fear of aliens and so anything set in space is a nonstarter for me. i will read some speculative fiction or time travel stuff occasionally, but space stuff is just never going to work for me lol.

mind you i'm very picky about fantasy, especially normie fantasy (though i've gotten better about it lately) but yeah, 10 times out of 10 fantasy wins.

21.  Best winter read?

hmmm i would say Little Women is a good winter read, good for curling up with under a cozy blanket. also, around last christmas i read Small These Like These by Claire Keegan and it was just kind of perfect for that time of year? in an utterly devastating way, ofc. that was such a good little book, man.

This is for the next chapter of "The blood on your hands is mine" which I haven't updated since January because I've been distracted but haven't forgotten about.

Wren looked over at Astarion and he turned back to his book, pretending not to have noticed. He hated the way she looked at him now. They hadn't talked about it since that night. Sex. It was just sex. It hadn't been completely unpleasant. She'd begged so prettily for him, after all. Even now, just the memory of her cries stirred his arousal. Which, in turn, renewed the disgust and shame that made its home in the pit of his belly. He'd endured worse lovers. She was -- almost pleasant in comparison. But this was -- she was -- maybe it was a mistake. I had to. I wanted to. It would be worth it, yes? If they survived all of -- this. Then sleeping with her would certainly pay off. She was one person. Even if he had to force himself through a few more nights -- he could do it. His body for her protection. Nothing could possibly be worse than what he'd experience the last two centuries.

Gale's weight shifts as if compelled to follow, but he rocks back to a tenuous halt. "This isn't a thinly veiled excuse to eavesdrop on our friends' private excursion, is it?" "Gale!" Astarion drapes himself over the banister four steps up, leaning down with false shock. "I would never." The wizard snorts, but after another calculating glance, he steps up beside Astarion who gleefully pivots to lead the way. On the first landing, they spot Lae'zel in a heated conversation with the Gith they'd hoped to find here, Wyll deftly guiding the conversation by her side while Karlach longingly eyes a nearby mug of ale. Gale moves to join them, but Astarion catches his elbow. "They can handle this themselves, darling," he murmurs. Gale pins him with an accusing look as if to say Astarion couldn't be more transparent, and Astarion just grins wider, tugging him through the opposite doorway and onto a long balcony. The bustling sounds of the city outskirts reach them once more, but they're muffled back here, as close to the illusion of privacy as an establishment like this might allow. After a moment's consideration, Astarion steers them to the right, pausing in front of the first door they reach. "Elminster's Library," Astarion reads aloud. "Now tell me that doesn't pique your interest."

5. what color are your eyes?

I've always said green--like a dark, muted green. But sometimes they're heavily dark blue on the outside, and sometimes they're more hazel in the middle, and I've been told all of the above things, so like. /shrug! lmao

11. favorite extracurricular activity?

Thought about this way too long as it relates to school or just current hobbies when I can probably boil all of the above down to: reading.

33. the last adventure you’ve been on?

Define adventure! I adventured down the main street yesterday to try a new ice cream shop... I adventured to a familiar venue for a concert with a very unfamiliar person a few weeks ago... I adventured back to my home state two months ago and went to a new haunted hayride... I adventured to a new convention in a new city (Phoenix, AZ) this past Spring... depending on the tier you're looking for, here are the last major ones I can currently recall lmao

4. which cryptid being do you believe in?

honestly none?? i used to in a kind of idle way but i think anything we think of as a cryptid is something else. bigfoot is probably a bear walking on its hind legs, mothman is probably an owl, that type of thing. would LOVE to be proven wrong, though!

I LOVE SCRUNCHIES <3 i use hair ties more but i LOVE scrunchies

9. which do you prefer, hot coffee or cold coffee?

i really like cold coffee but i wouldn’t kick a hot cup of coffee out of bed
