We had read some dutch books before coming here and heard that they're totally into spending sunny days at the park. Hauling all kinds of things to the park and spending the day. We had not yet experienced this until today.
We rode out to Erasmus park. Very nice park with lots of winding paths and lots of trees. There was tons of people hanging out, for what looked like the whole day, with a band playing - it totally reminded me of the Bayou Boogaloo in New Orleans. Just a nice chill crowd. We got an ice cream, kicked it on the grass, felt the rare warmth of the sun - it was awesome!
And then there was the crazy bathtub train - all I can say is you gotta check out the pics cause it was that odd. It really was super cool. I kept thinking how much a kid LOVES playing in the tub, splashing around. Then combine that with a train ride - oh my god, there were some seriously happy kids. It was interesting too, cause the kids would line up at the start, near this strange little setup with an actual clothing line to which they took off their clothes. I didn't see any kids in swimsuits. Girls and boys, up to maybe age 8 or so, running around in their underwear, taking a bathtub train ride. It was super cool and like nothing I've seen before.
Additionally - we rode past the Euromast and there were people repelling off of it. Dude - I don't know if anyone can do that and if so how much it is, but man - I want to do that. I am soooo looking into that.
So, tomorrow is the big day, we move into the house. So excited at the thought of it I just may wet my pants. Really... This long in a hotel is not so good for ones sanity. So, wish us luck and take care y'all! XXOO - Misha
