Although Fishlegs has already been on Berk for three months the reality of it doesn’t sink in until he’s watching the last tourist boat of the season leave the docks. It is then, holding a crusty old bucket full of kelp debris and a sparkling little fish the fisherman had promised Eret would love to see that it really settles in his gut.

He is stuck on Berk.

When the opportunity to do a year of study on the remote island of Berk comes up Fishlegs, fresh out of a messy break up, jumps at the chance. There he’s met with a handful of animated individuals, he commits to a winter of recording and photographing the algae of the surrounding waters - but all it not as simple as it initially seems.
