Ayreon's The Human Equation x Hades artstyle from last year. That's it. I just wanted to study the Hades artstyle, and I like Ayreon. I also "beat" it for the first time while working on these, so shoutout to this whole thing. Came up with the design for Father on the spot, too, RIP Mike Baker.

Just remembered I never posted these: designs of the characters from Ayreon's The Human Equation, part of a project that I named "The Character Equation", which consists on making a design for every Ayreon character ever (AT SOME POINT. Whenever I don't have dangerously close deadlines. I'm going to be taking my sweet time with this.)

They are heavily inspired on the costume design for The Theater Equation, but they are modeled after the singers in the studio album and their designs are more simple since I tackled these with a comic-making mentality (so, nothing too complex in case you had to draw these designs over and over again in multiple pages and panels).

I go over the process of most of these on these videos! I still have to finish a third one... eventually... but things kept coming up and I had to leave video-making aside.

Random music rec for the day:

Saviour Machine

Perfect for goths looking for something more metal or metalheads wanting a bit of gothic opulence. The band was created and led by vocalist Eric Clayton, and although from the US, they found their biggest fanbase was in Europe (to the point that their two live albums were recorded in Germany and Clayton making an appearance in the sprawling Ayreon universe of albums helmed by Dutchman Arjen Lucassen).

The band only released 5 albums, Saviour Machine I and Saviour Machine II, and the incredible Legend Trilogy, attempting to cover the Biblical book of Revelation in it's full eschatological grandiosity. Legend I and II were completed, but Clayton's poor health meant that Legend III was only half released under the bame Legend III:I. The second half, Legend III:II is technically unreleased, but I did find it on the official Saviour Machine YouTube channel, so I guess it was released at some point?

All that said, they have a cool sound and an epic style, and it's the perfect mixture of goth rock and metal music in my mind. Would highly recommend.
