Dear Gus,

All I could think today while we were filming this video was how much you would love to be here to see this airplane up close. It’s one of two remaining B-29 bombers that still function. Gorgeous plane. After everyone left, the guy at the museum let me and Derek crawl around inside it. Super cool, built in 1944, but I wouldn’t want to be inside when it’s in the air.

What happened to two young men, Eric Glover and Terrence Rankins (22) still haunts me. They were lured to 18-year-old Bethany McKee’s home because she promised video games and sexual favors. At first, they planned to rob the boys. The four murderers believed that Terrence Rankins was a drug dealer and would be carrying $100 on him. From there, Joshua Milner (24), his girlfriend Alisa Massaro (18), and their other sexual partner Adam Landerman (19) strangled the boys to death. After killing the young men, Landerman jumped on their bodies and “surfed.” The bodies let out a last zombie-like gasp, and the murderers then hog-tied the victim’s hands and feet together with electrical cord and dirty clothes. After strangling the two to death, Joshua Milner (the ringleader) put the dead bodies together and placed a sheet over them, as if they were a mattress. He and his girlfriend planned to lie on top of the bodies together. Alisa Massaro said before that she wanted to have sex with a dead body, so her boyfriend asked her to have sex with them. She declined at first, but later agreed. It obviously disgusts me to the utmost level and makes me afraid for every Black man in existence. Justice will never truly be dealt for the heinous crimes that white women have committed against Black bodies with the help of their white men, and for that, I will never forgive them.

I’m Eric Glover, the Community Manager here at Dots. I came across your post in December about how not being able to beat Level 85 on TwoDots was making you sad and frustrated.

I just want you to know that level 85 is a notoriously difficult level for players around the globe. We’ve gotten more e-mails about that level than any other. 

You’re not a failure.

Even if Level 85 were easy, you wouldn’t be a useless person for not beating it. Whatever’s going on in your life, this game will never be an extension of your self-perceived flaws. 

In fact, from what I’ve gleaned on your Tumblr, you seem like a particularly beautiful person—one with a wonderful sense of humor, a biting intellect, an acute sense of fairness, and quite an invaluable worldview. 

So please go a little easier on yourself. You’re awesome. (And it’s obvious.)

Seeing as Argo is based on the true story of Antonio Mendez, a Latino former CIA agent who made a daring bid to rescue American embassy workers from Iran in the ’70s, Affleck’s casting of himself in the Mendez role is yet another example of a “race-lift” that marginalizes actors of color. And infinitely more offensive than whitewashing characters of fiction, which is already frustratingly commonplace in American moviemaking, Argo boldly rewrites historical fact to put a white hero in place of an existing minority."
