I've been feeling very unmotivated of late. Any advice for becoming more motivated ?
hey ♡I feel like the best way to keep yourself motivated is to always have a game plan. instead of calling them goals try calling them game plans because plans are in progress whereas if you call them goals then that’ll make it seem like it’s further away, and that it’s going to take more time to reach so by calling it a game plan it’ll make it seem like you’re currently working on it and it’s constantly progressing. use the resources available to you, podcasts and books are so amazing, learn from people who motivate you and people who are doing what you want to be doing, jack canfield is one of my personal favourites. tony robbins and eric ho are also great, by listening to other peoples stories and experiences it’ll make you feel good, it’ll make you feel like if they did it then so can i.
try meditating, focus on where you want to be, who you want to become, write your ideal day down and put that idea out into the universe, the more you work the more opportunities will come your way, the more chances the universe will put into your path. write down a list of all the things around you that you’re grateful for and read over that list every morning, have an attitude of grattitude, the more you feel thankful for the more you’ll look around and be able to add to that list, and the more it’ll motivate you to keep working to be able to write down more and more things. surround yourself with postive people, people who are working on themself and their plans. you become an average of the 5 people you spend the most time around so if you’re surrounding yourself with people who are de-motivated, lazy, unsupportive, negative people, that’s who you’re going to become and your motivation isn’t going to be there. so be aware of who you’re surrounding yourself with! stay educated, never stop learning, the best way to stay motivated is to feel like you’re becoming your best self and the tips i just mentioned above will help you get there. you’ve got this!

Ode to the Tardigrade
A Tardigrade, also known as a water bear, is a resilient creature. They can survive in some of the most extreme environments (think boiling water and almost absolute zero) and are known for their strange gait, which look like a bear’s walk. Inspired after watching a feature on these little monsters in Neil Degrasse Tyson's Cosmos, designers Eric Ho and Kostika Spaho got to work and created a 3D sculpture of the Tardigrade now available on Shapeways. These eight-legged creatures can even be printed in stainless steel, brass, silver, and 14k gold! Get a little trophy celebrating one of nature’s most gritty inhabitants.
Social Retail Summit on the Lightspeed Blog
On Thursday, July 17th, 2014, we were proud attendees of the Social Retail Summit in Brooklyn, where our founder Melissa Gonzalez sat on the Pop-Up and Experiential Retail panel with other pop-up pioneers in the New York City area. This bi-annual conference brings together innovative retailers, experiential marketing consultants, pop-up shop experts, ecommerce gurus and more. The conference’s sponsor, Lightspeed, has included us in their recap sharing the Do’s and Don’ts for opening up a temporary store.
Heres a quick peak at what these pop-up pioneers had to say:
Do Deliver an Experience:
"Whether your budget is big or small, one must keep in mind that every single detail needs to reflect the brand." - Melissa Gonzalez, The Lionesque Group
Do Find a Way to Chop Up Time and Space:
“Don’t forget to bring your own tools,” says Ho. He suggests embracing the Do-It-Yourself movement by bringing decor or furnishings from an existing store or from home to use in the space. “DIY is always the way to go when you’re on a tight budget.” - Eric Ho, Made in the Lower East Side
Do Look at the Competition:
“Find out what the competition is doing to gain press and exposure, then replicate that strategy with at least one thing that’s different,” - Greg Speilberg, Imagination in Space
Do Go Where People Are:
"Your brand needs to connect with the right consumers, and picking the wrong location could be completely disastrous." -Jamie Falkowski, Alldayeveryday
