Puzzle Rings

Shapewaysで初めて買い物をした。パズル以外にもいろいろ作品があるけど、知恵の輪っぽいものは当時は少なかった。画像はキャストパズルでおなじみ Oskar 氏のパズルリングの作品。

Oskar Key

Shapeways に Oskar Key があったので(かなり高いのだけど)買ってみた。素材は White Natural Versatile Plastic しか選べない。フルカラーでステッカーが貼られ、組み立てられたものがほしかったら連絡を、とは書いてあるけど、自分にはハードルが高い。

届いたものは3つめの画像のように繋がっている。外してしまうと戻らないので、ちょっとためらうけど、思い切って。かなり硬質の素材なので切るのも一苦労。

キャストパズルだったのはキー2枚だったけれど、こちらは3枚にすることもできる。そのためフレームも2つある。

さて、組み立てようとすると twitter でつぶやいたように、入ってくれない。何か見落としているのか、精度に問題があるのか……。そんなわけで、1つめの画像はごまかして撮っている。

Hi,

Do you sell any of the models for your old Shapeways stuff, besides what's available on Cults3D? There were a couple pieces of yours that I'm really interested in printing for customs, but I didn't see them among the listings on your Cults page.

I haven't gotten everything re-tested and processed on cults, and the upcoming shapeways re-launch is... upcoming still.

I sell access to the .stls directly (most models being $10 each or 3/$25 for personal use) if you know which ones you're after. Just kick me a PM to that regard.

Actively kicking myself for not downloading all of the free 3D models off shapeways that I could get while I could. They were all just right there dangit! The 3D printing you can source elsewhere, but the models...

If only I had known in advance dangit!

...yes this is specifically about bionicle masks

I hope someone else has these downloaded somewhere. I was hoping a lot of the people who made the models would have moved their resources elsewhere but I haven't seen many of them give updates anywhere. Only some of them appear to be active on socials.

Trent, you were the first creator I thought about when I heard Shapeways was going down. That being said, I cannot wait for your Cults3D store to open. I've made a little bit on there, my buddy Novaforge has made quite a bit more than me without even really trying. Do you have a timeline when stuff will be up? And when it is, can I give your store a shoutout on my podcast?

I'm going to be uploading stuff gradually over the coming months. I'm hoping to have the store up with some solid intro items in a few days, probably going to be leading with weapons and hitting the Titan Faceplates and other stuff that's more release-specific after.

Still figuring out pricing and the like. But I'll def post when its up.

And absolutely, shout outs are always welcome.

shapeways filed for bankruptcy, but the question is can I still use the shop to purchase last minute things I want???????
