The smell of lilacs made MJ smile as she watched the small group of people(Eric, Lily, Malon and Jason) putting luggages in the back the van, then glanced at the freshly planted flowers near the front door of the house. It was rare that they had vacations, so MJ wanted to surprise them. They'd planned on going to see a somewhat famous house of wax she'd always wanted to see when she was younger. Trudy's House Of Wax. Just the name made her smile as she helped Malon put her bag into the back, then helped her up. She really wanted to go there, even though she didn't know if it'd still be there after all this time. MJ unfortunately never had the chance to go since her guardians didn't have much money to go there at the time. Now, she still didn't have much money, but she had a bigger family! They could help eachother with the gas, since she knew they wouldn't really need to pay for anything else along the way, since they brought and packed food, water, and everything that they'd need for the undetermined amount of time they'd be away. Jason had even made sure to ask some of his 'friends'(can't really consider slashers friends) if they could keep an eye on Cristal Lake for a while. They'd obviously accepted, so a weight was lifted off his shoulders. He was pretty stressed about leaving the place, because he knew he had to take care of it. His mother always told him so, too, since he came back.
Since the Greys had something planned, they sadly didn't come with them, but Aquarius had promised her friend that they would do something with all the families together. When? that, we'll never know.
For the trip, since they had now two other people riding with them, the Voorhees had opted for a bigger camper van, unfortunately selling the other one they had. They bought a '77 dodge camper.
There was a couch that unfolded into a full bed(but took most of the place), and a small bed at the back. So they'd have to figure out how to sleep comfortably. MJ and Eric had argued a bit, as she told him she could sleep in the small bed with Malon(because of Eric's bigger size), but he told him that he could sleep in the small bed, and she could sleep with the two girls if she was comfortable with it, which she didn't hesitate to say that she was.
The van's model was kinda old, but at least they had the money for it. Jason knew how MJ prefered buying things than 'finding' or stealing them from dead bodies.. from past experiences. It was the best option they had.
''Are you all ready?'' MJ asked as she closed the passenger's door, looking over her shoulder at Eric, Lily and Malon, who nodded excitedly and replied with variations of yeas. Everyone had smiles on their faces as Jason started the camper, one hand going to gently squeeze his wife's thigh. He was extremely grateful for whoever was looking over him, as that after all that happened, he still had his wife and daughter at his sides, his lights in the dark. MJ was his rock, the one that always grounded him and make sure he didn't work too hard on himself, even though he's an undead being. She did the same with their daughter, which never failed to make him smile. That's one of the things that attracted him to her, her motherly nature. Maybe it was because he always only had his mother, who knows. While he was thinking, MJ had worked the small radio and put it as background noise as the three behind them chattered.
Through the first part of the ride, Malon and MJ pointed out most of the things as they watched the outside with childish glee. As he heard them more and more, Jason couldn't help but realize how unhealty it had been for him to keep them in a house in the middle of the forest. They almost never went out, the fartest they went was an hotel, and when Malon went to school, which wasn't super far from Crystal Lake. The guilt ate his insides as he frowned sadly at the windshield, his eyes going to the map and then back to the road as MJ was too mesmerized by the scenery outside to tell him when to take turns. When he finally looked into the rearview mirror, he could see Eric's frown as he watched the two. He knew Eric was probably confused as to why they acted like they never saw outside, which was almost the case. He didn't have the heart to tell him/show him that his suspicion was almost true.
*
As the night came, the girls were sleeping on the unfolded couch(bigger bed), MJ dozing off into the passenger seat, being gently nudged by her husband, who pointed to the back multiple times, wanting her to go to sleep. She didn't want at first, saying that she isn't tired, until Eric had to almost drag her to bed. The latter had swiped places with her, sitting comfortably beside his once-almost-killer. Sure, it was a long time ago, but he still couldn't help but almost feel the pain in the side of his face, his scars tingling whenever he looks at him. Eric tried to break the comfortable silence as he didn't want to think about the past, so he chuckled, catching Jason's attention. ''My back is killing me..'' The bearded man stated with a shake of his head. Jason gave a silent chuckle in return, a small rumble coming from his flannel covered chest. Eric caught the corner of his lips turn into the ghost of a smile, which made him smile in return as he passed a hand through his beard.
His amber gaze fell back to the window, and he observed small droplets falling onto the windshield, until rain fell down heavily. The windshield's wipers swiped back and forth as Eric listened to the peaceful pitter-patter of the rain. Without his knowledge, even though only his left side was visible to Jason, the latter's guilt grew as he remembered when they first saw eachothers.. How Eric tried to protect MJ-
As if sensing what he's thinking about, Eric turned to look at him, still the other half of his face hidden, and softly said
''Sometimes, memories are the worst kind of torture...''
Jason couldn't agree more.
*
Once Eric got tired, Jason was left all alone with his thoughts again, since he didn't sleep. His eyes looked around as he took a turn into the trees, deciding that he'd take a break. Plus, it was so dark he didn't even know if he was going in the right direction.
He finally found a small clearing and stopped the van, turning it off and making sure everything was locked tight. As he got up from his seat, he could hear soft snores coming from Eric as he was completly passed out. Lily, Malon and MJ were quiet as he approached the couch, then gently kissed his favorite girls on the forehead. He made sure everyone was tucked it, even glanced at Eric.
The rain outside kept him distracted as he silently tried to think of what to do, and about what they were going to do if the house of wax wasn't there anymore. Would MJ be mad? He didn't think so, but she'd surely be sad, and he didn't want her to be. Let's hope there's something to do or look at near, like a shop or something.
If only he knew what was waiting for them wasn't something he'd be looking forward to.
Summary: Eric looks for a gift for the Voorhees’ coming wedding, with the help of the new addition of his family, Lily.
Pairings: (Platonic/fatherly) (Oc)Eric Manson x (Oc)Lily Manson, mention of Jason Voorhees x MJ, some (Oc)Gabriel Smith x Eric Manson (platonic)
Warnings: probably a bit shitty with maybe some grammar errors, some fluff, a bit of angst
I've been trying to get back into writing :') I hope it's alright

After the court, and the time he had with her, (let’s say it’s been that long) Eric found that him and Lily had a lot in common. They had started a really good relationship, which suprised him since she's mostly always lived in the orphanage and didn't have much contact with people in general. Anyway, his heart bursted with joy. He finally had a kid, and she seemed to like him. It was the best thing that happened to him in a while.
Once he finally had the paper confirming Lily's adoption, he couldn't help but cry a bit as he saw her coming towards him with a big smile on her face. He had gently embraced the girl, bending down at her height since he’s much taller than her, and then took her in his arm and on his hip, making her giggle, her eyes sparkling with joy. Her baby blue eyes were sparkling with childishness as she looked around, her strawberry blonde curly hair in a ponytail on the side of her head. It looked a bit knotted, like she didn't really have time to brush through her curls, so Eric would have to try and do with what he has to try and tame her beautiful hair.
-
After a long 30 minutes, he had finally brushed through all her hair, and the 10 years old was really grateful. She had even told him that it was one of the first time her was 'that pretty', which made Eric frown but still smile at the compliment. It surprised him that she was that comfortable with him, since the people at the orphanage did tell him that she was most of the time anxious. He couldn't see any hint of anxiousness as he observed her.
At his their house, Lily was adapting quite well, already knowing where mostly everything is, and even taking some snacks now and then after he told her multiple times that she didn't need to ask him to take food or anything. He didn’t have time to tell MJ and her family about it, since they were so preoccupied about the wedding. He didn’t want to bother them, even though he knew his friend would tell him that he isn’t bothering at all. While watching Lily colouring on the floor, Eric finally had an idea for his friends’ wedding gift. So he started to draw the design, knowing well enough that he wouldn’t be able to do much after that. Halfway through the drawing, he felt a gaze on him, which made him look at Lily, her pale eyes curiously looking over his shoulder. “What are you drawing…?” A little embarrassed from being caught, he rubbed the back of his neck, a smile on his face. “I’m making a design for a cake topper…” Her eyes lit up at that. “For what occasion?” “My friends’ wedding.”
Her mouth formed a small ‘o’ shape as she continued to stare at him, her head now tilted to the the side a bit, which Eric found quite adorable if he was being honest. “You know what a wedding is, right?” It was his turn to tilt his head as she shook her head. His design forgotten, he took Lily and made her sit on the arm of the armchair he’s sitting in, and he explained to her all he knew about weddings, making sure to ask her if she knew what each terms meant.
After that, Eric called his friend and asked him if he could make his cake topper, and his friend gladly accepted when he told him it was for a wedding gift, even told him he didn’t charge anything. Eric felt a bit bad about the fact it was free, but he knew his friend’s stubborn, so he didn’t say anything else. He sent his design to his friend, and the latter even put some more details, asking Eric if he wanted to put that too. They had worked a few designs together when Eric started making cakes, and their ideas were always good from Eric and his customers’ point of view.
(Made by the amazing @randomly-a-fan 😊)
They were both happy with what they had, so Eric’s friend told him that he would come to deliver it in a day or so, wanting to check up on him too. Eric didn’t tell him about Lily yet, wanting his friend to see for himself. They’d been friend for so long, and his friend knew that Eric had always wanted kids, but unfortunately never had been much on relationships. It was him who told him about adopting.
For the he rest of the day, Eric drew some more with Lily, both having a really good time as they ordered some pizza too.
-
The day after, the knock on the door made Eric jump out of his seat. A big smile appeared on his face once he saw Gabriel’s face on the other side, and they gave each other a pat on the back, hugging with one arm as Eric let him in with the other. Gabriel’s eyes roamed the room for a second, before he took his friend by surprise and hugged him tightly, making Eric smile again, both laughing. When they let go of each other, Gabriel saw Lily, the latter waving shirt from her spot on the couch, a plushie at her side. His eyes widened and he looked at Eric, who mouthed ‘adopted’ in return. He didn’t see think his friend would have that much energy as he immediately went to hug the 10 years old, making her squeak but laugh. Both missed the girl’s flinch as Gabriel gently patted her head, telling her his name and her telling him hers in return.
“So how’ve you been, E?” Gabriel said as he sat before his long time friend, a happy smile on his face. Eric sat on the chair nearest his spot, trying to ignore how his chair creaked a bit. “I’ve been okay, only thing new is Lily..” He said it like it was obvious, nodding towards the girl as he smiled at his friend. “Anything new, Gabe? Throwing the question right back at you..” Gabriel smiled softly and patted Eric’s hand, looking at his face. He’d always been awesome at reading people, and he knew that Eric was bothered by something.
The latter had seen the pensive look on his friend’s face, the one he always had when he’s trying to read him. Not feeling like getting pitied, he got up, forcing a bigger smile on his face as his tired gaze fell onto Lily, the latter nodding as she stared at her drawings before her. “What do you say that I tuck Lily in and we order some food? Are you hungry??” He said the last part over his shoulder as he walked towards the living room, gently nudging his precious angel and taking her in his arms once she makes a grabby hands motion.
Gabriel thought about what could be bothering his friend, a frown on his face as he waited patiently for him to come back. Maybe it was because of his other friends’ wedding situation? Or the whole adoption thing…?
As soon as he came back, Gabriel made sure pats the spot beside him as he now sat on the couch, a serious expression on his face. “Eric.” The bigger man went to the phone, almost ignoring him, until he said his name again, and he saw Eric’s tired gaze once he turned. “C’mon, man…” Gabe got up, then took the phone from his hands.
“Why don’t you sit down, I’ll order, alright?” Eric knew not to argue with him, so he nodded as he sat on the couch, almost groaning in satisfaction when his body touched the cushion. Poor guy had been up all day, and didn’t really sleep as he was too excited about the fact that he would have Lily, and restless from the wedding gift idea, even though he knew he didn’t need to get anything, as MJ would say. His eyes darted to the neatly wrapped cake topper on the table, completely having forgotten about it.
Pairings: maybe some Archie x Malon (platonic), Eric and the kids(fatherly)
Warnings: fluff, some anxiety signs, thunder, restlessness, not proofread/didn't read a second time
--
As soon as their parents left, the friendly duo looked curiously at Eric, Archie obviously more curious about the tall man since he never really had been with the kind stranger. The latter passed a hand through his short beard, deep in thoughts, until he felt a small hand tug at his coat's sleeve. Amber eyes met Malon's excited green/amberish gaze before they fell on the small clown at her side.
He didn't know much, except from a few basic things, about kids. He was willing to make their time with him a good one, though. So, Eric bent down and looked at the two friends as he pulled off his jacket, putting it on his knees as he balanced his weights on his calves, his boots still on. ''So!'' The word caught the kids' attentions again, before he continued.
''Wanna do some craft? I promise it'll be fun.'' He finished with a loving grin, it turning into a soft smile when he saw Malon and Archie's excited faces. ''Sure!'' Both replied at the same time as he gently ruffled their hair before getting up with some difficulty, putting his coat on the rack by the door, and bent down to unlace his boots.
When Eric finished putting his things away, he entered the living room and saw a certain red haired girl on the floor with things to make some 'crafts'. There were some scissors, both kids friendly and adults ones, some clear tape, blank sheets of paper and some coloring pencils, pens and graphites pencils too. With a movement of excitement, Eric sat on the ground, groaning once he finally was on the cold floor. With a small exhale, he mumbled. ''I'm too old for this.''
That made Malon giggle since she was the closest, before Archie sat beside his friend, facing Eric with a smile.
The air seemed fresh as Eric took a sheet of colored paper from Malon's left, tickling her while doing so, making the latter smile, before he started to fold it, his eyes going from the paper and to the two kids which were still looking at him curiously. ''What do you kids know about origami? '' He asked with his still gentle tone, before he showed a blue paper butterfly he made with one of the smaller pieces of colored paper. Both kids awed at the paper creature as Eric put it in the middle of the small circle they made. For a while, the three made some origami, the adult with them showing wherever they needed to fold, cut or glue. After that, they even played with Skippy, Malon's bunny, and played a game of charade, until the small group got bored and didn’t have anything to do, except wait for their parents to come back, even though they'd probably be sleeping, maybe even Eric included.
Malon and Archie chatted on the corner of the couch, as the man bounced his leg, looking around with a crease between his brows from the other side of the couch.
His mind was racing as he thought about the future addition to his slowly growing family, and he couldn't help but smile as he heard Malon and Archie laugh, his leg slowing a bit. He had already been to the adoption center, and had chosen which kid he'd adopt already.
It was a little girl named Lily, he remembered that they told him she was 10, close to Malon and Archie's age actually. A shy smile came to his face as he tilted his head, thinking about how he'd have more excuses to visit his friend and her family. The kids were oblivious to his distant look as they continued to talk.
As he looked through the living room's window, he could see it was getting dark, and he still hadn't any ideas about what to do. The night was officially getting started. Before he agreed to watch the kids, he had thought that he could have worked on some designs for another customer's wedding cake, but it could wait since it's was his friend who needed his help, he thought the last part as his gaze stayed on the window, brows furrowing once again. The sky was clouded, and he could feel a bit of wind from the sides of the closed glass, which made him shiver.
At the same time, as if the cold heard him, a sudden urge to look into his coat's pockets made him get up and go towards it by the door, reaching into the two pockets on each side, until he felt a box in the right one.
Eric's head tilted again, before he got something out, a now happy smile adorning his lips as he held a packet of what seemed to be playing cards in his large hand. The texture of the black box made his smile bigger and turn softer while he gently opened it, memories about how long he'd had them running through his head. They looked like normal playing cards, except from the small folded or cut corners of some of them, so anybody wouldn't know about their story if he hadn't told them. The cards had been a gift from his parents when he was a kid, and even though he'd lost the orginal box, he'd made one with some cardboard, and painted a small white spade on it.
It was as he heard his name being called that he snapped out of it and looked towards the couch, seeing Malon and Archie looking at him. ''We're bored...'' Malon said with a small voice and a small grimace, Archie nodding at her statement as he patiently look at the grown man before them, wondering what he was going to say as he opened his mouth. ''I think I might have an idea...''
He said with a soft tone as he displayed the cards in his head. Malon answered by giving him a curious frown, while Archie's eyes lit up. He had seen some playing cards at his house, but never bothered to play with them since he mostly was by himself at his house, his father hunting or doing whatever, while his mom was doing some chores or was in the kitchen. He obviously couldn't play with Kandy, since she was way too young to understand it.
''I'm not good with kids.'' Eric mumbled with a chuckle, rubbing the back of his head as he walked towards the couch, sitting on the corner of the arm rest since Malon had moved closer, taking the place he had earlier. Fortunately, both kids were probably oblivious to his nervous mumble or didn't pay it any mind as he gave them the cards, both putting their full attention on them. ''I've got two options; one, we can make a castle with the cards, or'' He took a pause as he saw their smiles. ''..or, we can play like grown ups.'' He finished as his gaze travelled from the youngsters and to the clock, which read 7 PM. They still had at least an hour before their bed time, he noted as he patiently waited for their answers. It was Malon who replied again, and made Archie grimace a bit. ''Oh! Can we make a castle?'' The young girl was unfortunately oblivious to her friend's face, but Eric wasn't. He guessed that Archie might have want to play a game of cards.
''Tell you what, maybe we can make the cards sculpture, and then we can play? Is that alright with you two?'' Malon's face fell a bit when she heard the last part, but she nodded nonetheless as Archie smile.
*
It was now 8:00 when they finished the small castle created with the cards, and lets say they were proud of their work.
They unfortunately weren't able to make a castle, but they did make a structure, so they were happy. Since Malon didn't want to play a game of 'fish', she went to brush her teeth and let the boys play, her friend going to brush his once she got out of the bathroom. While the two were away and getting ready for bed, Eric put away the cards, a triumphing smile in his beard. Even though he thought he wouldn't be able to handle it, he totally did. With a imaginary pat on the back, he put the cards back in his pocket.
It was as soon as he made sure Malon and Archie were comfortable that he returned to the living room, his eyes trained on the now bad weather outside with worry. He could hear the sound of the rain pouring heavily, and could even distinct a rumble once in a while. It really took him by surprise, but he didn't mind it too much, since he guessed that it would probably stop before the parents come back.
*
Well, he guessed wrong. It was now 10:35 PM and the rain was pouring heavier, thunder now fully in work and making the cabin shake a bit.
Eric's hair was out of it's usual bun and he had his coat on, waiting and keeping hope that it would all stop, and that the Grays, and the Voorhees, are safe at the moment. He passed a hand into his dark locks, wincing whenever there was a knot. The muscles in his face were relaxed as he started getting tired, his thoughts unfortunately keeping him awake. The pitter patter of the rain made him throw his head back and rest on the couch's back, his heavy eyes now on the ceiling. For approximately 30 minutes, he just stared at it, until he was about to doze off, but then heard a small voice coming from the hallway. It was when it called his name that he turned around, finding a scared Malon looking at him with a plushie in her arms, Archie rubbing his eyes behind her.
Realizing he wouldn't sleep for a while, he cleared his throath and got up, going towards the kids. ''Can't sleep?'' They both nodded. Malon was scared of thunder, so she was habitued tha her father came and stayed with her for a while. While Archie wasn't scared, he did get restless from the rumbling and lightning.
''What about we do some living room camping?'' Both tiredly nodded at the suggestion, walking back towards Malon's room, and coming back with some blankets and pillows.
The grown man helped them put everything on the floor, and then making their 'beds' for the night. As soon as it was finished, Malon went back to her room, coming back with a spare blanket. ''It was in my closet.'' She answered his curious expression, making a small smile come to Eric's face as he ruffled her hair gently. ''Thank you.''
So for the night, the restless friends talked a bit, Malon and Archie on the ground while Eric placed himself on a 1 seat sofa in the corner, staring outside as he pulled the blanket on his lap. He had some small back problems, so it was better if he stayed upright. He would never dare use The Voorhees' beds.
As 12 AM finally came, Eric still wasn't asleep, listening to the rain outside and watching the bolt of lightening that came less frequently as the hours passed. It wouldn't be the first time he wouldn't sleep, but he still wanted to fall asleep, to escape reality, like everybody.
''She is everything to me
The unrequited dream
A song that no one sings
The unattainable''

The sun had risen, but the people in the van were still sleeping... except for little Malon as she her bladder was full. With a tiny sniffle, the red haired girl, nudged her mother, who was still sleeping on the tiny mattress. When she didn't wake up, Malon nudged her again, muttering 'mom' as she watched her sleepily turn to face her, a small hum leaving her closed lips. Tired blue eyes greeted her. ''Can I go to the toilet..? I really to go....'' MJ muttered something that seemed like a yes to her before closing her eyes again, immediatly falling back asleep. Feeling the urge to go, she opened the door and closed it, making sure not to wake up the sleeping males in the front.
She found a place to do her business and went back towards the van, her feet sliding against dirt and rocks.
As she was going to open the door, she heard a small rustle and looked towards the sound, seeing what seems like a small animal running away. ''Hey!... '' Not even realizing that it could be dangerous, she ran after it, going in the opposite direction of the van and the abandoned house. She ran into the grass, seeing the small beast running through it. A rock made Malon fall to the ground, her hands fortunately catching her as she made contact with the ground with a small cry. The girl sat up and dusted her hands on her dress, her face twisted in a grimace, Malon saw that she was on a small path. Before she could think about how going back to the car, she heard a motor noise, her curiosity caught again. The sun was beaming down on her as she got to where the noise was coming from, now behind what looks like a house.
Maybe the person that was working it could help her get to the van, or give them a bit of gas... “…Hello…?” She said as she peeked around the corner. The noise maker was a machine that worked without someone there, a generator or something, so it made Malon tilt her head with a frown, the girl now going around the house as her last resort. At the front, there was a swing that creaked with the small wind, the chains holding it up barely going back and forth. Like the child she is, she almost sat on it, but decided against doing so since it wasn’t hers. Her big eyes went to the front door before she silently went up the stairs. There were two doors, a screen one and a normal one. The normal one was opened, which made her frown again, but she thought nothing of it. The people living there had probably forgotten to close it.
She was still curious though, so glances around, knocking again. “H-hello?? Is anybody there??” Malon’s voice cracked as he anxiety got the best of her, her heart beat going a bit faster. She got no answer, so she was going to go back and try to find her way to the car, until she heard some distant noises that sounded like… chickens?
The poor girl knew what she was going to do was bad, but she couldn’t help but open the screen door, glancing around before quickly entering, calling out again to make sure nobody was there. When she still didn’t hear anybody, she turned left with a small sigh, going through a doorway with some blinds or blankets hiding the room before she fell to the ground as she put her feet through, this time not catching herself as her jaw hit the floor harshly.
The girl could taste blood in her mouth, but she didn’t even feel the pain as she looked ok what she tripped, the unmistakable human bone rolling away from her. “Oh-oh..Oh my……no… no no no—” she mumbled in panic as her wide eyes took the room in, her voice stuck in her throat as she saw more bones. There were chicken in cages above her, but she didn’t care as she got up, a small cry leaving her lips as she tried not to trip in her own feet—
As soon as she opened the screen door, she heard another opening and felt arms wrapping around her, a squeal and some unknown words coming from the person holding her.
“AAH—“ The small terrified girl screamed as her heart almost beat right out of her chest, trying to get out of her captor’s hold… before she passed out in their arms.
The masked man holding her let out a panicked squeal as he held her unconscious body, immediately going towards the meat room, closing the door on his way.
He put the unknown girl on the metal table, his hands going through his hair as he tried to think about what to do, panic growing within him. He wasn’t going to kill her, she was just a kid!! The girl was probably only curious, or lost, he thought as he paced around, licking his lips deep in thoughts.
Rubbing the back of his head, he looked back the dirtied girl, a frown on his face…
—
''JAY-''
The men were wide awake, Jason's hand on his machete as he looked at his panicked wife, her eyes glossy and her breathing irregular. MJ was looking at him with her mouth half opened, pushing things around. Eric, still half asleep, put his hand on her shoulder as he rubbed his eyes with a worried frown. She continued as Jason looked around, his posture now rigid as he got out of the van, realizing Malon wasn't there. The two inside did the same and followed him, calling out the girl's name as they ran around, the mother tearing up as she didn't see the red haired girl anywhere. ''Malloonn!! -'' Her best friend cupped his hands around his mouth, walking ahead of the two worried parents as he went the opposite way while they searched near the old house, not seeing anything or any trace of the lost girl.

Small recap:
He only stopped when he saw the familiar coat wearing figure coming towards the cabin, their long dark hair up in it's usual bun...
Eric.
**
Jason walked towards the man, his nostrils flaring and his mind back to the time when he almost killed the guy. He finally had a reason to do what he almost did that day, and he wasn’t going to waist it, that’s what he was telling himself that is. No more Mr. Nice Guy. Eric, who saw Jason furiously coming his way, knew that his explanation and apology to what he hope was still his friend needed to wait. Right now, he had to survive the rage of her husband.

When MJ and the kids had finished eating, the woman decided to finally go look for her husband, worry making her stomach twist. Her thoughts were clouded after she realized that it might not have been a good idea to tell him that she got fired by Eric specifically. She didn’t want anything bad happening to two of the people she cares about. Yes, even if he did fire her and broke a piece of her heart with it, she still considered him a great friend and was sure that if she saw him ever again, he would probably have a good reason as to why he did. Eating a little something before cleaning up the kitchen, she puts on a light jacket on and walked outside with her survival kit her husband gave her at her belt. The sun was starting to go down, so she kept her flashlight in her hand as she walked around the cabin, the sound of the leaves moving with the wind hiding her footsteps to the forest's animals.
She walked faster when she heard a distant voice further away. She couldn't make out what it said, but it sure seemed like they were arguing or pleading with someone, which didn't help MJ's worrying. Clicking the button of her flashlight, goosebumps traveled her skin when she discovered the voice being Eric's. Her mind couldn't register what was being said as she almost ran towards what she could now distinguish as the figures of Jason and him. She needed to stop them from killing each other, but she couldn't get in-between them... so it's pretty difficult to do something about it. A sigh left her when she saw her friend's back towards her, his now soft voice making her look towards the towering figure of her husband before him. He fortunately didn't seem to have seen nor heard her, listening carefully to Eric as he talked gently to him, like he was trying to calm a mad animal, which was probably the case earlier. MJ's pale eyes looked over his tense figure as a part of her was frightened for her friend, seeing her husband's grip on his famous weapon tighten.
When she unfortunately took a step forward to hear better, she accidentally stepped on a branch, making it break and making the two men look towards her. A gasp escaped MJ once she saw Eric's face, a big gash going from under his right eye to his bearded chin adorning his scarred face. The two froze when they realized she was there. Surprising her as they stared at each others for some time, Eric made a small, gentle movement with his hand for her to come closer, making the woman step towards them. Her eyes moved towards his bleeding wound and her husband, making the latter look down a bit. ''MJ.. You weren't supposed to be there....'' His sheepish look made her frown, until she remembered why she was there. Feeling a bit of confidence, she asked without turning around the bush since she didn't know what to say. ''Guys... could you not kill each other, please?? I don't want any of you hurt..'' Surprisingly enough, Jason's posture changed once he saw his wife, his shoulders slacking and his posture relaxing a bit, he even looked a bit guilty if you looked close enough.
Some seconds later, Eric almost jumped out of his skin when he felt a nudge against his shoulder, Jason's intimidating gaze telling him something MJ didn't know about. With a sigh and a bit of fidgeting, the dark haired man looked at the woman he hoped he could still call his friend. ''MJ... About why I fired you, it's just because I know you and know it's a lot of stress put on your shoulder, especially when that mistake happened some days ago. I know you blamed yourself for it and saw how much it didn't help your mental health at all... And I don't want you to feel bad because of that, because I seriously care too much about you, even if we don't see each other that much. '' He paused and looked down a bit, feeling her husband gaze on him with her confused one. Strangely, MJ didn't feel that bad nor the need to cry about it, totally understanding his reasoning and even getting heart warmed by what he just said. She could only stare for a while as she waited for him to continue talking, her mouth closing and opening as she tried to find words.
With a sigh, he continued. ''I'm sorry... I seriously hope we're still friends-'' The almost muttered last part made her frown and hug him tightly, surprise him, herself and her husband. The tension in the air softened and you could clearly feel that the situation was better than what happened earlier. Thoughts were racing through MJ's head, a small but sad and a bit tense smile on her face before she let go of her flustered friend, her smile softening once she sees his wound again. ''It... It's okay... Let's just forget about it. '' Before anybody could say anything after, she continued. ''You're coming back to the cabin with us, though. I'm not letting you out of my sight with that gash on your face, knowing it could get infected. '' With a small chuckle to ease the tension, she walked beside her slowly calming husband, noticing blood on his knuckles and a gash near his shoulder blade. Guess she would play the nurse for the night. Even if a small morbid part of her wanted badly to know what happened, she stopped herself and thought about what could have happened if Eric wasn't so level-headed...
Sensing his wife's mood change, Jason, still feeling a bit guilty for letting his feelings get the best of him and possesive, squeezed her shoulder softly, making her put her smaller hand in his bruised one with a loving smile.
Warnings: some fluff and angst, nice friendship though
For the amazing @randomly-a-fan :D
Don't hesitate to tell me if I did any mistakes, it would be greatly appreciated!

After some time of searching for a job, MJ had finally found one that she was pretty happy with. A week earlier, the woman had caught glimpse of her old friend Eric and talked with him, learning that everything was now okay with him and that his small business was going pretty well.
After asking him if he needed some help, he eventually told her about his last baker that got fired because of some dark reason that he didn't want to tell her. It didn't matter for MJ, so she immediately asked if she could have the job, her eyes sparkling and a big smile on her face when she heard his unhesitant answer. It would be an height hour shift, but she didn't mind if it meant that she could provide more necessities for her family.. Thinking about her new job, the small hazel coloured card between her fingers, she opened the cabin's door as she heard a small thump, with no doubt indicating that Malon heard her entering. ''Mommy! '' Her daughter ran towards her, jumping into her open arms as she felt her mother hugging her closer. ''Hey sweetie. Is your dad on patrol? '' The woman asked with a tiny hint of sadness in her tone since it was rare to see her husband whenever she came back from somewhere. Malon looked up at her mother with big curious eyes. ''I think he's in the shed..'' Her mother's eyes widened a little at that, surprised that he was, for once, so close. Before she went to see him, she asked the girl if she ate, a soft motherly smile once she saw her nodding her head. Getting up, MJ gave her a kiss and walked back towards the door, Eric's business card into her pocket. Before closing the door, she looked back and told her softly a quick ''I'll be right back.'' before she finally went outside, the wind making her shiver.
''Jay? '' There was silence before she called out again, sighing when she doesn't hear or sees anything. Guess she would tell him when she comes back. Going back inside, MJ made Malon a small snack and told her to tell her father that she got a new job and would come back later, gaining a nod from the small redhead. Before going though, she made sure everything was locked, even if there was almost no chance of someone coming in and Jason would be back from where he is. With some hesitation, she left the house and went to her new workplace, her worries lessening once she sees the beautiful interior. There was a warm aesthetic to the place, the smell of coffee and food making her salivate. As soon as the small bell on top of the door chime, she was greeted by Eric's bulk shape appearing at the register. ''Hey, MJ! I knew you'd come! '' A smile came onto her face as she embraced him, his soft greeting making her feel like everything was 'normal' once again. ''Since there isn't anybody, let's get to it. '' She followed him silently, looking around in amazement as they passed through the back door and where she would be working. After showing her around and making sure she knows the basics, he showed her the pastries and talked with her as they waited for some customers from the newly opened sign.

Everything seemed perfect for the duo. Sadly, it wasn't Jason's case. He had went to take some new flowers to put in the vase on the kitchen table as he was looking through some things and saw some trespassers. So he did what he had to, obviously, and then picked the flowers, putting them in his pocket to not put blood on them. When he got to enter through the back door, he found it locked. He tried numerous times, but found that it's really locked and he will have to hope that Malon isn't in the living room to see him bloodied like that. After peeking his head through the door and making sure she isn't there, he quickly walked towards him and MJ's room before closing the door, a silent sigh escaping him when he doesn't hear anything.
Changing from his gory clothes, Jason went to see what his daughter was doing, smiling once he sees her drawing on the ground. He couldn't wait to see his wife, so he decided to look for her, panicking once he doesn't see her. Before he could really freak out though, Malon appeared and told him that she got a job and would be back later, like her mother told her to tell him. The undead man felt a bit sad that she didn't tell him in person, but was really happy. There were a lot of anxious thoughts running through his mind, but he knew she'd be okay. Since they didn't have anything to do and wanted to surprise her, the father and daughter put themselves to work and did some cleaning of the house, playing and joking around to try to fill the hole MJ left since she was away. While cleaning the counter, he could tell that Malon was less worried about her mother than him, but still worried enough for him to see. So he tried not to let his attachment issues get the best of him and thought positively , patting her head gently and smiling as he sees her smile.
When they finally finished, the sun was going down and they waited for MJ, Jason tries to think of something to eat. He wasn't the best cook, but he really wanted MJ off her feet once she came home. Getting things ready, him and Malon decided to do something different: pizza (I think you said it was one of your fav. food in the tag game? you can correct me if I'm wrong :)). They had more than enough to make some, even the dough. So they went to work again!

''Hey guys..'' MJ tiredly but cheerfully said as she looked at her husband and daughter playing a board game in the living room. As soon as Malon heard her mom, she looked at her and smiled big, immediately forgetting the game and hugging her tightly. ''I missed you! '' ''Aww.. I missed you too, baby..'' Smelling something good, the woman looked towards the kitchen with a grin. “What is that smell?… Pizza?” Jason immediately smiled big and nodded with a childish glint in his eyes. MJ’s eyes widened and a giant smile appeared, tears coming to her pale eyes when she got up and saw it at the table. “Oh my… you didn’t need to!” The two shook their heads as her husband gallantly pushed her chair when she sat down. She couldn’t help it as her gaze travelled to kitchen, noticing everything seemed to have been cleaned. The tears finally fell as she looked loving at her family, the three of them sat at the table peacefully.
