After all that had happened, one would think he’d be happy for this sort of chance, and he had. There had been so much running, hiding, and trying to survive that Jaime had forgotten what it was like to be around people. Alexandria was something he was still trying to get used to.
So he tended to be alert at night due to all the nights having to keep watch over what group he’d ended up with or for himself. Impermanence had become something that he hated to be used to. So his feet had brought him out here and the warning had come out of the parts of him that even this whole mess hadn’t changed.
“Still,” he says despite the assurance, “Not sure that it’s safe to be out alone even with warm clothing. Weather looks like it might be getting worse.”
At the question as to his night wandering, he gives a wry smile “Too many nights having to keep watch makes getting a decent sleeping schedule still some work.” Carefully, he moves closer. “Everything alright?” He had a sense that the other was worried about something but they hadn’t exactly interacted enough for him to get a real read on him. It was something Jaime had promised to get better at. Though he was also aware that Eric had no reason to really confide in him. But he was here and could offer. Wasn’t a reason not to.
